I'm currently working as a research associate with a very low pay. I just came back from Germany with a Master's degree, but ended up with a job where is the money coming in is actually LOWER that what i had before I did my Master's.. Don't get me wrong, I honestly do love research but with all the bills, there just enough money going round the house. Should I move on to a high-paying, probably non-satisfying job or continue in this low-paying but intellectually fulfilling job?

If you believe you are good with this then you deserve to be paid well. Compensations should be based on your performance not on the company's budget. Others pay more because they give due credits to those who has excellent ideas, thus increasing productivity. But if you like your job right now, its still okay..work hard to make a difference and someday your company will pay you more to keep you. But right now they are only offering so much till you prove them your worth. goodluck!

set a time frame, if you did well and nothing happened with the pay..the years you've spent is more than enough to increase your market value as an employee, then you can apply to a more paying company.
