This is a cute little book by Casandra King. It's about four Southern women who are best friends.
It is funny at times and it is sad at times.
Toward the begining of the book she says something that hooked me...
"The illusion of sweetness, that's all that counts. We don't have to be sincerely sweet, but by God we have to be good at faking it. Southern girls will stab you in the back, same as anyone else, but we'll give you a sugary smile while doing it"?
I highly recommend this book. It is a great example about how different people can be on the inside from who they are on the outside.

That is interesting I hope you are not giving any of your secrets away? I believe Miami is in the south. LOL. As I am not a southern lady I must read the books and see what kind of mischief they get up to.

You know that is funny, Kentucky isn't really considered the south by the southern folk, yet it is by the northern folk. Reckon that is why it was a split state during the civil war as well. I don’t know if I’m a Yankee or what, LOL.

I do think it is funny that Miami is about as South as you can get, but people usually don't consider us southerners. I guess it's cuz of all the immigrants here. It is a cute book though. I think everyone can appreciate it regardless of where they might be from.

My Dad is a Yankee. My mom is a Cuban American, my friends are Miamians with Southern accents (didn't know that existed til I met them) and I'm just...confused!

I had to give a giggle reading that quote. ha ha Because it is so true! Southern girls will stab you in the back with a nice southern smile that you never knew it was coming! ha ha
I am born and raised Orlando, Florida girl! And yes, we southern girls have a funny way with words. This book sounds cute! I will keep it in mind when I go looking for another book. But currently, I have a stack of 8 or so to read. :)

Wow with summer break almost over, I am looking for a good book to dive into once the kids get back to school. I will have to certainly give this one a read. LOL, from the sound of that quote, I do believe I have ran into one of those girls in my life time. They kind of sound like a type of person I did a post on recently about back stabbers. Who knows maybe this author will have some understanding of these kinds of people and shed a bit of light on why they are, the way they are.
Thanks for the tip!

Never heard of it. Every time I open a post from you about a book, half of them I've never heard before. Is this a popular book or something?
