Do you value your health? Do your actions show it?

The importance of nutrition is nothing new. It is a basic knowledge of every human being. Hippocrates said back in 400BC. “let your food be your medicine and medicine be your food.” Today nutrition is more important than ever..
There are too many foods, too many drinks, nowadays, which all taste very good yet are not healthy for us. There are so many things in life that we have to cope up with, stress to manage, etc. The question is, do you value your health. Do your actions show that you value your health?
i see many busy people, students, who are so consumed with life's processes that they forget to check on their health, on their lifestyle. They say they value their health, but you see them eating processed foods, staying late at night, facing the computer for like the whole day, having so many vices, and failing to exercise the natural way.
I think we all need to reevaluate our position about health. What we say should also be what we do. Our actions should reflect that we indeed value our health.
Do you value your health. Do your actions show it? what are the things you do to keep healthy?

As for me, I do value my health, since I myself am a healthcare professional it's just that sometimes when i have cravings for food especially chocolates, those in high calories, high in fats, lots of oil and stuff.. even carbonated drinks!! i just LOVE them, i have to admit that.. I can be quite tempted and have to just give in.. sometimes I just tend to think that one of this days I have to keep minimize myself from drinking cola especially that lol..
as for keeping me healthy, what i usually do is I eat lots of fiber to keep up what I have eaten few days ago lol and drink lots of water and take vitamins, get enough sleep, exercise and rest of course!

hi natalie. thanks for the reply. i think it is okay to cheat once in a while and savor the taste of the foods you like. but again you should be disciplined. i eat chocolates too, my favorite. but i don't eat as much as before. sometimes i cheat and eat too much, then i must starve myself from chocolates for a long time again. diabetes runs in our blood. my father has it, so i should be careful. thanks a lot!

I do value my health and try to do things to help improve or maintain good health. I exercise regularly and stay away from many junk food places. I still need to improve on my eating habits but am at least part of the way there. I try not to stay up late during my work night and also spend more time outdoors than indoors. Not only do we need to do more to improve our physical health but our mental health is just as important as well so we need to take care of ourselves mentally as well.

I think that by going to the gym five times a week shows that I fully value my health. I eat sensibly and I don't eat junk food in fact I avoid junk food places like the plague, I eat lots of fruit and vegetables and I am careful about the proteins and carbs I feed my body before and after my training at the gym. I feel healthy, look good and my muscles are building LOL!

Hello cuddleme. Seems like you're back meowing mylot again, lol. I do try to value my health. I started to take stock of all the food that I'm eating. I tried to gear toward green veggies as well as taking my regular supplements. As a matter of fact, I only allowed meat on our table 3 times a week.
I need get more sleep though. I'm a certified night owl and getting only about 4 to 6 hours of sleep every night. But I tried to fortify my brain with an hour of power nap in the early afternoon.

I think three quarters of the western population have forgotten what good nutrition is, & how important it is to maintain good health.
They rely to much on modern medicine to fix thei problems, when many problems wouldn't occur at all if they ate properly.
Good nutrition consisists of a diet that is approximately one quarter protein, one quarter carbohydrates & half salad or vegeatables.
Not only that, but it should be whole foods, not chemically manufactured foods. So fressh meat or chicken, not processed in any way. Salads that are feshly made with only natural dressings.
Breads, pasta & rice that are wholegrains, & not processed.

Yes you are quite right.I see young peoples eating & drinking anything .They don't care about thare health. They only care about the taste .These foods are really unhealthy. My father always used to tell me that you should always eat correct food than your health will remain in correct way.Actually the reason for most of the disesases is wrong dietary patterns.

thanks rb200406. yes you hit it right. Wrong dietary pattern, lack of regular exercise. Oftentimes, we get sick because we intentionally and knowingly abuse our bodies.

I value my health much for we only live one in this world, i drink at least 10 glasses every day and avoid fatty foods or junk foods. I prefer to eat fish for I considered fat fish is a good cholesterol but from beef is a bad cholesterol.
