Do you worry about grammar in your discussions?

As much as possible I always try to watch my grammar upon posting discussions here, or any writing for that matter. I'm one of those people that tries to make everything close to perfect in everything that I do. If I can at least make my grammar correct here, I'd do it, especially English is not my native language. ;-) Keep safety!

Yes, i am careful about what I write and speak, I like to use each language that I use in it's proper form without the slang, English is not my native language but i try to keep grammatical mistakes to a minimum.

Yes I do very much worry about my grammar in my discussions. A perfect discussion makes a good impression.I believe that your discussions reveal your personality.

I am not that worried about my own grammar. I write for a living, so I have plenty of practice. There are people on here though, who write horribly. I know English may not be their first language, but I would not attempt to get on a site like this in French (my second language) because I do not feel that I write well enough in French, or any other language, to converse on line in a way that would be understood by the masses.

I think it is important to watch your grammar and language skills. Letting them get sloppy, even if you think the conversation isn't that critical, leads to bad habits in the long run, as well as a general deterioration of the language in society. I particularly dislike (and here on MyLot, will not even read) people who use text-speak like "u r" for "you are."

I totally agree with you! Thank you for making an effort to respect and uphold the preservation of the language. Like you, I do not want to read, much less comment on post that contains rediculous abbreviations too. I dont think using "text-speak" language contibutes to the preservation of this wonderful language.

At the beginning of my membership in myLot I did worry about it. Still myLot is new discussion forum - my first and only - that I join in, so I felt it's important. I just want to be communicative so that others can understand what I'm talking about. English is not my first language in my daily life. But I think it's pretty good to improve my skill here at myLot. And after 5 months of my membership, I feel different in this skill. At least I don't worry about my grammar anymore. I just worry about my vocabulary skill. I still use a dictionary to do discussions. ^_^ Hehehe... Anyway, myLot has helped me so much! I learn much from all of you too! Thanks a lot! Have a nice day, God bless!

I think correct usage, syntax and spelling should be maintained in all written communication at least. Grammar has become the biggest casualty in chat, email and messaging channels.I think it needs collective awareness and determination to ensure that this great English language is available to posterity as it was to us!

I really don't watch my grammer upon posting discussions as i feel i can speak and write in english fluently. Though i check for my spellings and if i see gramatical error i correct it. Besides sometimes one is in hurry and can make errors. Happy mylotting}:)

Yes I am a stickler for language and I always try to maintain correct grammar whenever I write anything, whether in Mylot or in everyday life. I believe that correct grammar increases a languageā€™s beauty and smoothness.

I'm sure my grammar is perfect or not.At least I think mylotters can understand what I say.I think if you practice more then your grammar skills with slightly getting better and better.Just work hard can contribute more in mylot. That will be perfect!

I always worry about the way I write. I am always back spacing and correcting misspelled words. I go over my response like three times to make sure I didn't make an error. There are sometimes that I have overlooked a word, but it happens.

yes, it's very important to watch your grammar; be it in writing or during speaking, especially if you are working and in a managerial position (which calls for your meeting a lot of people from all walks of life). If you don't, people would misunderstood you.

English is my native language, but I have a "language learning disablity" and have extreame difficulty with grammer. I figured, but only learned recently that my sister has the same problem - not helped by the fact that one of her - so called - teachers wasn't able to speak proper English & only passed the Teachers exam because she was black. Now, one of my best English teachers was black, so I'm not saying that black people can't speak & teach excellent English. But this particular woman later LOST her teacher certificate & the best she could do was be an aide.

Yes I worry my grammar and words usage but there are times that I can't checked it. Nobody is perfect when it comes to grammar even if your native language is English.

Well on forums I have bad grammer like I never use periods and commas and it does annoy a lot of people but to me I just dont care because its just a forum its not school or anything sure if I was being graded on every post I made then I would be using periods and commas on every post I make so untill that happens my grammer will probally stay the same lol.

Yes. I do take a lot of care in the Spelling and the grammar when I respond to the discussion or when I start the discussions. I feel, the reader will feel more comfortable when he/she reads a sentence that is correct both in grammar and spelling. Also, I like to do anything I do, more perfect. So, even in the postings I do, I will try my best to keep the grammar and the spelling more correctly.

No, grammar is not all that importent to me. I am not the best speller in the world nor have I ever gotten hole grammar thing. Not everyone speaks using good grammar and if you did your posts would be as long as your arm. hehehe. I dont know but as long as people understand what I am trying to say.
