Look around you the next time you are in a crowd. Doctors say that as much as 40 percent of the population in obese or overweight and many are the kids growing up.
Nowadays, youngsters suffer from teasing, rejection, bullying and other types of abuse because of their overweight. As a result, their become more in-confident to do anything; trying to search the fastest way to lose weight by taking a lot of medicines or diet products. I'm sure you all heard a lot of news related to these, right?
What cause the children overweight? Children themselve who have a 'Great' appetite? or the parents for not controlling their meals? or the fast food industry for making so much advertisement????

Keeping your weight within safer standards is always desirable , lest you develop all sorts of health problems. Obesity spoils your disease free existence . It is better to keep a strict watch on your weight status.

I don't believe in the modern definition of being "overweight." Women of "fashion" are so skinny and airbrushed that it's impossible for us to live up to those standards. It's different if the person is obviously obece, but most people aren't as bad off weight-wise as society wants them to believe they are.

Some of the obese problems derived from genetic factors. This is the hardest one to overcome. Other than that food factor, and this is the simplest one to solve. I think most of us nowadays are affected by food factor, because we eat too much 'luxury' food rich with fat and cholesterol. We can start slowly to educate our kids about the importance in eating healthy food. Show the example by doing it yourself and prepare healthy food for your kids. Don't bring them to fast-food restaurants often. As much as possible, cook your own food so you know the ingredients. It depends on ourselves actually, to stay slim and healthy.

Yes, it does. I need to work on my weight but I know how easy it is to put it on and hard to take it off.

I believe its the different factors around us that makes these things. Overweight can be caused by not eating on the right time with the right portion of food. Work can be a factor, with stress and less exercise you are definitely heading to overweightville. Food portions are important I know that foods around us today are yummy, scrumptious, irresistible, but sometimes we have our lifetime to taste them all. its not like there is no tomorrow when eating. Free food is another factor, parties, festivities, cheap food. Who cant resist? the key is discipline, control and share. Discipline your self that you can taste or eat some of these delectable foods some other day or opportunity. Control the portions one serving is enough to fill your body with the right food. Share what you have so that instead of getting flab earn a good company.

I'm about 30 lbs overweight myself and it's something I'm genuinely concerned with regarding my kids. I don't want them to end up really heavy, not because I have anything against overweight people it's simply because I want them to live a long and healthy life. we make sure that they are in sports oe playing outside lots and also try and get as much fruit and veg into them as possible

Looking around, I am surprised that the numbers are only 40 percent. Most of my concern is for the health of these people though. The health risks for overweight or obese people are much greater than for those who maintain a healthy weight.
The weight gain in these children is caused by several things. One of the things that contributes to the problem is today's sedentary lifestyle. Many of todays children spend way too much time sitting at the computer or television instead of out playing with their friends. The other problem is with their diet. Fast food is readily available, and let's face it, many of us will grab take out much more often than we should. These meals just aren't as healthy as a good old fashioned home cooked meal. Also, many families tend to keep junk food in the house, and if the kids have the chance, they will eat it.
Parents need to take charge of what foods their kids eat. They need to limit the sweets and fats. They need to make sure the kids are getting enough healthy foods, and to get them up and exercising.

No matter which way you look at it being overweight is not good! I have seen parents use food to pacify their children from the time they are babies. An extra bottle to get them to stop crying. Ignoring the fact the baby throws up from having to much food. Giving them cookie after cookie as they are getting old to keep them from crying or moving about everywhere. The cookies help them to sit still for a while. This setting the pattern as the child grows. Kids have had their meals but the parent will offer those treats to get their child to sit still or to change their bad mood to be happy because they get pizza or McDonalds or what ever. Using food becomes the norm to solve problems and that child gets the obesity problem. What a shame. I don't think fast food restaurants are the problem. Lets remember that more then half the people in these places are on the slimmer side of the fence. They just don't over eat. I could partly blame the government for allowing all of these process foods to be available in our food stores for years and years now. Take Note the obesity rate as grown through the years as people have made these refined high carb filler foods the norm for eating. Fruits and vegetable have taken a back step to all the junk on the grocery store shelves. When I was a young mom at 20 years old shopping for my family I was appalled at the kinds of cereals that were on the shelves for my children to eat. I honestly could not understand why this was allowed. I could read the ingredients and I could clearly see there was no nutritional value in this box of cereal couldn't our government or who ever is in charge of watching out for the food source. So yah I can blame them sum. Actually I blame them a lot! Next I blame the people who made the food in the first place. Never in a million years could I make a food to sell to the public that had no nutritional value or at least put a warning on the box saying this is not a meal supplement! This could be used as a snack for part of a meal; something like that! I taught my girls before they were two years old as we grocery shopped these are bad foods! They no make you grow healthy! They never ever felt deprived because they couldn't have fruit loops and others they I can not remember the names of; but you know what they are! Years ago people act because they were yungry but now a days you have to teach your children from a young age how to eat and why to eat what they eat because eating now a days is a danger zone! What a shame is situation is. I am overweight and it is hard enough to see this for myself but when I see other people over weight like young women, children and yes men; I want to cry and cry as it breaks my heart. I don't like seeing people in this situation I know what the inner pain must be for them as it is for me. I know there are groups that claim they are happy with being obese but I don't believe them. I think they have given up and are hiding and have decided to make themselves happy in spite of there fat. I guess that is good for them; I guess! I don't know for me it seems like denial as I really question them on that?

To me it looks like it's the parents fault. A lot of the time they don't watch if they're children are getting the proper nutrients and since a lot of us are getting lazier now we like to use the microwave and of course microwave foods are the ones that contain the most fat.
