I definitely enjoy the books more. While I like the movies, and I enjoy SEEING the scenes that were in the book, I have always been an avid reader and have always been able to envision the scenes in my own head. I didn't need a movie to do that for me. I think that is what is so great about the Harry Potter series, it encourages children to use their imagination when they read and create their own idea of what the characters look like and how the scenes take place, rather than all of the information just being easily handed to them like in television and movies. I applaud JK for writing a set of novels that have inspired children to read, rather than just sit in front of the tv screen.

yeah...the way she has described her characters and the whole of the story/...one can easily slip in to be one of the Hogwarts student and can see things in live...hats off to her...i guess that why ppl who have read the book does not like the movie since it misses a lot of thrill and details.

I can agree with you on the sparking the imagination of children part. I have a son who is Autistic. We've watched every film(he doesn't read much) and all I have to say is that when he "sees" the characters on the screen, it takes him straight to Hogwarts:) I am an avid reader personally and I love all the books. Especially, that JK Rowling is such a phenominal author and helps fire the imagination of everyone, not just kids. He needs the movies, as much for the visual representation of the story, but because he can't read at the level of the books. I need the movies because they're fun and I like to see what parts of the books they decide to put in the movie. I like them all.

I watched Harry Potter 1 in the past, but I am not so interested in it. After that, I haven't watched its other series.

No, I am not into Harry Potter at all. I have tried reading the books, but just can't get into thsat sort of theme.
My 14 year old loves Harry Ppotter. During the week she went to see the latest movie with my hubby.
yesterday, the latest book was released. Hubby went out & bought it for her & got a free Harry Potter hat too.
She has hardly put the novel down since starting it. In fact, at an important swimming event last night, she was so avidly into reading the novel, thsat she missed her time to go to 100M butterfly, & therefore lost 8 points, & quite possibly has misseed out on a medal.

I am a fan of the harry potter book... I find it more interesting and thrilling to read than to watch it in the mvie...Further in the movie many scenes and explanations are not given which we can imagine ourselves once we read the book and no one can bound your thoughts

i loved the books but the movies were not near as good. i mean i liked the first 3 movies alot but the 4th killed the book so to speak. it just left and changed from the book so much that i want to see the new movie but i am not going to pay a smal fortune to go see it i will wait. we dont have a movie place here so i have to travel to see it so i am waiting. i hope this time they get more back to the book then they did with the last. now the books are gret. i finished the new one already and i was sad when i finished cause well there is no more. i hope someone picks up where she left off.
