How to utilize opportunities?

Some say opportunities for success is a chance of a lifetime,they may or may not come, or others view opportunities as coming unnoticed, or being taken for granted. So they say, if there is one opportunity for your benefit, grab it; or otherwise, you wait for your opportunity, it will eventually come. Consequently, what do you think will be the proper perspective: Opportunities come to those who wait, Or Opportunities are captured by those who dare to attack?

I grab the opportunity coz I know it seldom comes in our lives. Maybe there are opportunities that I have passed me by but I hope its not too late.

A man was caught in floods. He prayed god to save him. A group of people came in boat and asked him to join, for which he said god will help him and they can go. Water level risen. A tree fell and it cam floating in the water and couple of men sat on the tree and it was floating and moving. They also invited the man to join them to go to safe place. This man said God will help me. Later water level further rose and it came to neck deep. The man sat on the top of his house, praying god to save him. He started cursing god, saying that his belief in god is no longer there, because god did not help him. He was cursing his fate. At this juncture, god said, look, I sent to the boat, you did not get in. I sent wooden log you did not get in. You never made any effort. Now no body can help you. Take a last chance of swimming to the bank!!
Opportunities will not announce and come. It keeps coming and one should keep eyes open, grab it. Success embraces those who take risks.
