I can count eight accidents that I've been in... four of them were major and three of those resulted in my car being totalled!!! I haven't met anyone yet that has been in more. Oh and I should mention that I was never seriously hurt in any of them and NONE of them involved drinking or any other stupidity!!! Just a bunch of bad freakin' luck :-)

I have just started driving about a year ago. I have never been in a car accident with someone else being the driver. I hope I never have to experience that, although I live in Colorado and in this weather it is highly likely.

i've never been in a car accident with someone else driving either... it's always been me behind the wheel... like i said i feel like an accident magnet :-) good luck driving in CO... snow can be very scary to drive in... my dad used to live in the mountains here in CA and i've driven through snow a few times to go visit him and that was not any fun!!!

good for you!!! stay off the road and away from crazy drivers... watch out though just because you don't drive doesn't mean you won't be involved in an accident someday... you could be a passenger or innocent bystander!!! never think things can't happen to you, that's when they will get you :-)

I've been in 3 major accidnets. the first wasn't a car but a 4 wheeler. I was 15 and over corrected and went off a bluff. I busted my head open, fractured my pelvis in 3 places and broke my elbow.
The 2nd I was 17 and my parents bought me a car for graduation. I had my learners permit. I was driving with my then boyfriend now hubby and rolled the car. We were both fine, just scared and shaken. My car was totalled. I have driven since but I don't have my license. I'm too afraid of hurting someone.

i also considered not driving anymore... but i just couldn't do it. where i live there aren't really any jobs that pay well so i had to get a job in the city about a half hour away. there is no way i could do that without a car :-)... but let me tell you, i definitely am much more observant of what the other people around me are doing!!!

was it bad??? i've never actually seen an accident happen from the sidelines. i've always been right in the action :-) of course i've come up on accidents right after they happened but never seen one right as it's going on.... that would be a trip i think :-)

I've been in 3 car accidents. The first one was the worst as I ended up going to the hospital and had 7 stitches put in my chin. I stole my mother's car when I was 13 and smashed it into a neighbor's tree. I was 19 before I ever got behind the wheel of a car again.

good for you, and yes you are right, you don't want to... it is very hard to recover when your car is very abruptly taken away from you... it can have a huge impact on your lively hood... your whole life really... i have a hard time recovering from some of the financial effects of the accidents throughout my life. the last accident i was in totalled my car, which was completely paid for. the girl ended up not having insurance and i got low-balled in the settlement. i only got 3500 for a car that was worth at least twice that. so i ended up buying a car that was actually worthy of carrying my daughter in safely and i am still making payments on that p.o.s.... i had a HONDA ACCORD!!! i LOVED that car, now i drive a ford focus... big difference :-(

i would have to agree, slick roads can't be much fun... i live in california where the roads are dry most of the time and i still have all this trouble... i couldn't imagine what would have become of me if i lived somewhere with severe weather conditions...
