I try to earn money by writing online and selling my self published poetry books. I also combine my services. It's way cheaper to combine services. My phone, cable, and highspeed are on one bill. I also have a discount with the eletric company because I'm disabled.

Also consider getting a roomate to split costs. I can't believe I forgot that one. It's so obvious!

This is a problem I currently am trying to solve. First, and you might have thought of this. If you have your mylot money go to PayPal, make sure they send it to you as a check, instead of putting it right into your bank account. They take out a little over a dollar to send a paper check, but I set my payout at 25 dollars, so it doesn't affect me a lot. If they put it in your bank, Social Security counts it as income, and will deduct from your monthly check.
Also, do you buy the Sunday paper? I only buy that paper so I can get the coupons. The coupons usually pay for the paper. And I use the newspaper to clean my mirrors, or use as puppy pads. In addition, I cut out any desserts. I don't eat a lot of dessert, but by cutting out any kind of sweets, I save money that I can use on something else.
I have had to fight the urge to buy something on sale, because hey, it's on sale! But that isn't something I should do. When and if I need it, I can get it another time, but I don't want it to be sitting in my cabinets, of no use.
I just feel for you because I know how hard it is. I'm probably not helping you at all. But there is one last thing, have you ever heard of Angel Food Ministries?
