Cinemas and movie theatres are getting smaller by size and tickets are more relatively more expensive. When buying or booking a movie ticket, do you have a preferred choice of seat? Yes, it is free seating, but you are paying are it! Since you are paying for it, isn't it reasonable to expect to be able to choose your preferred seats? Even if I am not paying for it, I will go for my preferred seating place. Do you prefer the seats at the sides, or the center ones? Or near the aisle? Back row? Or the first few rows? Kindly share your preference :)

Hello bighead. I haven't watch nor step in a movie house for ages. Believe it or not, I really have no idea how much the movie ticket cost nowadays. I normally chose the one at the center for better viewing. We have movie houses where you can choose the seat number but the ticket will be a little expensive. I wouldn't mind spending more especially if my girls are with me. You are assured of a good seat and a cleaner place. I remember watching alone and chose the one near the aisle. I don't know why. I felt that it was easier for me to hop out of the movie house after the movie folded up. :)

It S$9.50 per ticket here in Singapore, more pricer than a fast food meal. lol. Given the choice, I too choose the seat near the aisle as I do not like to squeeze into knees to get to my seat. Center seats are out for me so I guess we can never watch a movie together :p

$9.50 in USD or SD? I'm just a little bunny and you can easily squeezed me inside your haversack. You don't even need to pay for my movie ticket, lol!

In Singapore, only popcorns and drinks sold by the movie caterers are allowed into the cinema now. And yes, watching DVD is much cheaper if there is a need to pay for more tickets.

Yes, you are right we should get seats of our choice. But I think the rule is - first come first serve, therefore sometimes we are not able to get seats of our choice. Given the choice, I would like to see the movie from the back row with a centre corner seat....othewise side corner. Have a nice day!

I love watching movies at the theatre. If we get their early enough then we head for somewhere in the middle but to the side or aisle seats. My husband is tall and has long legs and broad shoulders and prefers the aisle seats so he can spread himself out.

If it is a big cinema, then I will prefer the center. Otherwise, I don't really mind I will definitely go for the back rows. If the seat is too front, I will give the show a miss no matter what.

i prefer aisle seats for the same reason as airplanes. yeah i think we should be allowed to choose seats. some cinemas still allow that. i think optimal for me will be the aisle seats in a huge cinema so that it won't be too slanted to the side. so there will be three main columns, not sure if you get what i mean. if aisle seats are not available, then centre nearer the back, maybe four rows from the back will be good. one thing that you can't really choose is who sits around you. if it's a group of particularly irritating teenagers, that could spoil the whole experience for you even if you had the best seats in the house!
