What do you do when you need to concentrate?

I've been experiencing some concentration problems lately. I can't do many things for more than 10 minutes, unless they REALLY interest me. Everytime I try to focus on something, my mind just goes to somewhere else and it's starting to bother me a lot. I've heard it could be a sort of disturb, but I don't think that's the case, or at least not yet. But it seems it's getting worse. So, what do you do when you need to concentrate? Do you think it's also difficult to you? Do you know any tips that could help me? Thank you all for responding!

Depending on your age it could be as simple as soy milk or balancing hormones. It has been studied and the fact is that we do too much in this day and age. We have far too many things to remember and at some point something has to give. So maybe you can take a bit of time here and there and just be, take care of you and in essence take a break. Balance in all things means that you can achieve many things and have time to play too once it is a balanced situation. Must be a consious effort and one that is well worth it. Good luck with finding that balance.

I take one spoon honey + a glass of warm water ever morning and evening. After two weeks my concentration has improved and I have more energy. By the way I took new zealand manuka honey, this is the only one that work for me. You can try, you can try your local honey first. Good luck!

Concentration problem ? It is not easy job. Requires constant efforts. Earlier I was suffering the the same. Two thing helped me lot. One :listening my favourite music on my ipod or walkman(I like light and semiclassical music). It gave me mental peace thereby improved concentration. Two: Pranayam and meditation(daily 30 minutes).this is the best method, but requires patience. One more, your diet also helps. Now I can concentrate with two minutes deep breething.

Hhhmmm... Maybe I should add some classical music to my iPod too. Even if it doesn't work, it surely won't be harmful. And by the way, what's pranayam? Thank you for your help!

Me too sometimes when my sorrounding is noisy or messy. I usually can't concentrate in my things I want to do if the tv or radio or even my kids are noisy. If I have important things to do or to finished I usually turn off all the noisy things in my place, I clean my place I get irritated when I see around the mess.

When I was a student, it is easy to concentrate on reading, even for those boring books, but now it is too hard to do it. I pay more attention to those funny books or entertainment programs. Now I try my hard to read some books everyday, but I read too little. Then I find that it is more easy for me to read them than before now, it becomes a habit. When you can't focus on something, you should do it everyday, then you can't leave it any more.

Hiya laridbz, To help concentrate, have you tried meditation or yoga. They will help you increase your concentration powers considerably. Do find out if there are yoga classes in your vicinity and enroll. You will bless me some day.

I can't say for sure what's causing you to lose your concentration. Maybe you're over fatigue, stressed up or lack of sleep. These factors may lead us to lose our concentration. I tried to keep a quiet surrounding when I need to focus on something. I can't do well with a noisy place.

I need a quiet spot when I need to concentrate on something. Sometimes if I am stuck I need to walk away from the issue and then come back to it a little later like taking a brisk walk outside, or going to the mail box or something like that.

There are lot of sites and blogs that can help you in developing your Concentration. If you are aware of Yoga, then you can start practicing it, which will definitely improve not only your concentration, but your health itself completely. For quick concentration, close your eyes, take few long and slow breaths, count slowly from 20 to 1 and you should feel better now. Try this.

I am at the other end of this scale. I am very impulsive/compulsive. Meaning when I start something it's very hard for me to stop. But when I need to concentrate I make sure I am in total silence. No music or TV on to disturb my train of thought. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Aww sweety I know exactly what you mean - welcome to my world! Is there anything major going on, could you be a bit over stressed, over stimulated or even a little depressed? Different people need to do different things to help concentrate - a long walk in the fresh air, listening to relaxing music or even just ensuring you get enough sleep! I hope your concentration starts to improve, I know how exasperating this can be!

I listen to music really loudly, that's the best way in my opinion. Blocks everything else out. :)
