Can you live without the remote control?

I can survive a few days, maybe a week, at most two. The original remote control of my TV broke a long time ago, so my brother bought me ones that cost cheap. I have about three of them lying around somewhere in my room, broken. Just one fall to the floor and poof! They don't work anymore. However, I have one that is almost snapped in half, so I taped it. It still works. That's the only survivor so far. But it went missing two days ago. I asked the helper who cleans my room where she placed it. She said she places it on the same spot always. I know, because I always pick it up from the same spot. And now it's gone. I don't know where it's gone. I have no idea who would want a taped-up remote control that's barely working.
And now I'm miserable.
Although, I've found a sort of remedy. There's this walking stick here at home. It's supposed to be a gift for my mom. I don't know why, because my mom can walk perfectly. So there. I use that stick to poke on the buttons on the tv. Lol! That's how lazy I am.
But really, admit it, it's no fun if you have to get up every time you want to change the channel.
How about you?

I so cannot live without a television remote. And the worst part, is that I lose the thing all the time! Someone should come out with a remote that has an alarm on it so when you lose it, it's easier to find. I'd hate it if I didn't have a remote. I don't know how they survived without them back in the day. I mean everytime you lay down in bed to watch tv, you'd have to get up to just change the channel. Unbelievable!
