help with this site

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am fairly new to this site and when I signed up I turned off all the options to have things emailed to me as I thought this might clog up my inbox. I have changed my mind now and would like to get emails when people respond to my discussions etc only I can't find how to change these preferences. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
