Have You Ever Had Leech On You? Is There Anyhting That Repels Leechs?

I've often heard that they are easier to get off if you pour salt over them. I have thankfully never had this experience though. I think I just got lucky though because my cousin got one on him and we had all been swimming in the same lake. He just pulled it off really fast, kind of like ripping off a band-aid. I don't remember it leaving a mark but it might have...I didn't exactly pay attention to my cousin's legs LOL. I do remember a trickle of blood but the way he ripped it off the blood could have been from him or the leech. I've never heard of a repellant but look into it. It seems like there are products out there for every problem a person will ever have and even for some we didn't even know we could have!

where i born lots of leeches in lake and bogs. they fall of when full. we carry salt they no like. we do dance with potato spirits round fire night before to repel leeches but it no work. just excuse to get dizzy headed.

As a matter of fact I did. I don't know how it got on my leg but I remember my mother and grandmother telling me not to look down. They sprinkled salt on the leach and it fell off. That is all that I remember! I felt nothing before or after!!
