carrots do help you have a better vision and eyesight because it has a lot of vitamin A! ^__^ that's why bugs bunny loves carrots so he can see everything that's happening in their place! LOL but, keep your carrots, i dont like 'em but i do eat carrots sometimes. but not raw! ^__^;;

While carrots are a good source of Vitamin A, which is important for healthy sight, skin, growth, and resisting infection, eating them won't improve vision.
While it is true that carrots contain the beta-carotene which may help reduce the risk of cataract, it needs to be pointed out that studies conducted to prove that carrots are sight-boosters used doses of Vitamin A or beta-carotene that were higher than what is found in the standard diet. It would be quite difficult to eat the requisite number of carrots to match this level of intake.
Increasing the dosage of carrot intake, however is a bad idea. Large doses of Vitamin A can be toxic, and though such an overdose rarely kills, it has on at least a few occasions. Also, too much beta-carotene will result in carotenemia, a condition that turns skin yellow or orange.

i think you have misread my response to your comment in my post. i know i was in the right place because it was my discussion that u had responded too. i was talking about that phrase plus many others i heard as a child annoyed me as a child but as a parent now i find myself saying the same things that use to annoy me as a child.
