When you sleep do you like your lights to be turned on or do you want your lights to be turned off?

You do not state your preference here. My preference is to have it dark in the room. Studies prove that you enter into a more restful type of sleep in those circumstances. I string a string of colored lights down my hall way, and another small string in the bathroom, so that I can see if I have to get up to use the facilities in the night. If you turn on a bright light, you reset your body clock to wake up at that same time for several nights, it contributes to a lack of restful sleep. I also do not want the television on or a computer monitor on in the room where I am sleeping.

I prefer the lights to be out, but I'm not going to disturb the cats to turn it off.

I can not sleep with the lights on. I'd like it turn off, plus it saves power that way. Especially during these times where in there is debate over global warming and energy conservation. We should try to do our share to save the environment, please close all electrical device and pull out the plugs if they are not in use. Thank you for the comment you gave to a discussion that I posted.

Half the time, I couldn't care if the light is on or off if I'm really tired. If I'm trying to fall asleep it has to be pitch black and I like it to be extra quiet. Sometimes I can watch tv to put me to sleep or listen to the radio.

I prefer the lights to be out...in the hall outside my bedroom as well as in my room. Living in the city drove me nuts because it was never really dark.

I would have to say lights off. If I leave the lights on I could not get to sleep. It has to be nice and dark in my bedroom for me to fall to sleep.

I like it completely dark in my room when I’m sleeping. My daughter likes a little light in her room at first then I shut it off when I come up to bed- Her room is down the hall from ours- I’m great at fumbling my way around the house in the dark : )

I get up to go to the bathroom during the night and having dogs, we have found that we are all happier if they don't get stepped on as I make my way from bed to bath. I need some light.

I cannot sleep with lights switched on and it rare that i sleep with lights switch on. And that happens when i am really scared, sometimes i feel something is near me and i feel insecure. My sister cannot sleep with her lights off, so she has a dim light switched on everytime she sleeps.

I like to have a small, faint light when I sleep. We have a lava lamp in our bedroom, that puts off just enough blue light to see our way to the bathroom, but not so bright that it will disturb our sleep.

I like the lights to be off also, but I can't sleep unless I have noise. I have a noise maker/purifier going on all night, otherwise I can't sleep. It's so difficult when I travel because I need noise. My family think I'm strange, lol, but even my kids they fall asleep with music on.

I have to have the lights off when I am trying to sleep. The only time I can sleep with the lights on is if I am to the point of exhaustion and just don't give a crap.
