I'm sure you're not the only one, and believe me this arrangement (with only 1 car) is only temporary...You know, there are lots of many people in the world who don't own even a single vehicle...so don't worry...a little sacrifice now on your part will soon reap good benefits for you in the future...I remember a Chinese proverb which says, "I cried and cried because I had no shoes, until I saw a man with no feet..." So at this point, count your blessings...there are so many others who are of lesser fortune than you...God bless.

Wow, thank you. I think I needed that. Sometimes we get so wound up. And stress does not help! I definitely did not grow up a snob, but, feel like since I have three kids and a home I should be more further along with the 'American Dream' then I am... hmmmm...

I'm kind of in the same position. My van has been laid up for the past 3 1/2 weeks. I've been driving his truck because he doesn't like leaving me with no vehicle and three kids while he's at work. He works 12 hour swing shift 30 minutes away so those would be really long days and he worries about me being without a vehicle when he's on nights in case one of the kids wakes up sick or something (plus we have 3 boys under the age of 5 and even if it is a bad stereotype, we expect lots of ER visits). Most of the time though he's been able to borrow his dad's extra truck so it's still kind of like having two vehicles. But when that truck isn't available it's no fun at all. We have to leave at 5am when he's working days and 6am if he's on nights. Two trips into town everyday isn't very easy on our gas budget either. And making matters worse his son got his driver's license last month and an occasional job so the three of us have to share the one vehicle at times.

Oh my!!! I feel for you. On the three boys thing too! LOL Yes, we woke up today also at 4:30 so we could take him to the carpool place (that's the bummer too, he ride shares to work. So the car isn't even being used during the day!). Anyway, get all three in the car, drive there and back. I was home by 6. Put them back to bed and I've been up since. And, I have a job interview today! Eeek. Talk about dark circles. Then, I'll meet him somewhere around 5 or 6 and come home. Hmmmm, who's cooking dinner tonight! Best of luck to you.

I remember the days of driving my husband to work 45 miles one way just so I could have the car. Now we don't have a car and are borrowing our Pastors car until ours is fixed.. So I understand well the stress of only one car.. We also don't live near town, so if I wanted anything, I would have to call him. (Then again the advantage of being out of town is if too stressed, I can always take a nature walk..weather permitting)
