Life is short as well as long. There are too many memories in our limited life, sweet or bitter. There can be always something that reminds us of the past memories, but whatever memories they are, they are past and have become part of our history and they are just like running water in the river flowing to the ocean eventually.
Memories are our treasured gift to us so that we won't forget our life experience.
Sweet memories could make us as happy as we were kids again and bitter memories won't cause me too much pain or no pain at all. Because it is not worth it for us to feel pain any more for the bitter memories. Instead we are becoming more realistic and more mature than we used to. And we know more about the value of our present life that we are possessing.
What kind of memory it is, it is our own attitude towards life that can make us either young or old.
Life is yours to explore. Thanks for your discussion, ssh. Good night.

I shall write in gold : "It is our own attitudes towards life make us feel young or old. "
Once again the statement coming from a teacher : just excellent and thank you for nice statements which is going to make this discussion even more livelier.

Happy memories always linger in our minds and I would like to forget the bad memories. Whenever I recollect the happy memories, I always feel youthful and that can be seen in my smiles, in my walk, in my actions - everything gathers vigour and vitality.

We remind our memories individually or share with others.
if individually(alone) they affect accordingly as they are sweet or bitter.
But if we share our memories with better half, our school mates, college mates whatever may be the memories they always gives us good feels, minimises our tensions rather energise us.
Sharing with mates after long gap is really a booster dose.
is it ?

Hi ssh123! I think, whatever happened in our past, good or bad, affects us one way or the other. I believe that having happy memories kept in our hearts make us radiate joy and peace all around us and somehow it shows in our face and personality. The bad memories that were kept bottled up and somehow is rotting inside us because we were not able to let go will somehow show too. Well, this is just how I think and feel about things because I am more joyful whenever I think of all the happy times I had with my mother when she was still alive and whenever I do, my face as they say looks more content, happy and secured in a very youthful way. Take care and have a nice day.

Both bitter and sad memories help a lot..as these bitter memories teach us to be more careful and teach us lessons..and sweet memories ..one of the best to cherish happiness anytime in life..hence sweet memories plays 75% role in keeping us young as whenever we think of them it gives us immense pleasure and happiness.
