My sons surgery

My sons surgery on his broken arm was yesterday, it went well. They did have to open his arm up to put the bones back in place and remove muscle and ligaments before putting in a titanium rod. But, instead of having to stay overnight in the hospital, we got to come home last night. He says that it feels much better, at least the bones are still broken apart and moving around. Poor baby! He has done so well with this, I am so proud of him! The doctor yesterday, an orthopedist, told me that with some of his problems, that I need to have his thyroid checked. I am not sure why, but he does have some of the most common symptoms, but no other doctor has ever said this. So, I will call the pediatrician today and make an appointment to see what he thinks. I am just glad that he was able to get the use of his fingers back and that he is feeling better!

Poor guy! I couldn't imagine. I hope he is doing okay. Good luck getting his Thyroid tested. How old is your son?

He's 12 year old. Thanks! I have never had a broken bone, so I have no idea how he feels! He is doing great and I hope it continues to go so well. Thanks again!

I was 12 when I broke my ankle. It is a real bummer when you are a kid and just want to run and swim during the summer and you can't. I hope he heals quickly!

I know, now his summer is over-this is what he says. But, we are hoping for a quick recovery! Thanks!
