Have you ever drunk Absinthe before?

Have you ever had Absinthe before. I love it. First time I tried it I was 12, I had the 86% stuff. I was bladered after that. :D I still drink it today every now and again in clubs. Its not only really strong, it also tastes really nice. :)

I have tried it. It is illegal in the United States so it is hard for Americans to enjoy such a drink.

Maybe that's why I've never heard of it, because it's illegal in the US. Too bad, I bet I would have tried it at least once if it wasn't illegal.

I am pretty sure they made it illegal in the US because it had opium in it. Although not all absinthe has opium. Thujone is an oil from the plant Artemesia absinthum. Like Pennyroal tea made from Menth pulegium it can cause lesions on the brain. It might be illegal for that reason. It is also seasoned with some anise seeds. Queen Latifa actually drank a lot of it when she was in (i believe) Switzerland shooting some movie a couple of years ago. She liked it.

I really like it. it has a lovely fresh flavour,is a beautiful colour, and it's just yummy. and it comes from one of my favourite plants. I once made Absinthe Turkish Delight, and it's lovely with lemonade as a fresh and deceptively harmless tasting summer drink.

I have had it before. We had it send over from Belgium. It tastes terrible. We have an absynthe spoon and everything.

I have never tried it but I have always wanted to. I know I can order it online, but it is too expensive for me. One day maybe I will... my boyfriend drank it once in Canada, but I don't think he had enough for it to affect him either way. I heard it tastes super super bad, but I guess you say it tastes nice so I don't know what to believe! lol

It's illegal here, but I once got a chance to try absinthe in ice cream, of all things. It was very very strange, and I was about the only one who seemed to think it was very tasty. I went back for several servings, and the people at the event where I was trying it were kind of impressed I think. =p

I haven't tried it yet, but I really want to. As soon as I have some spare money, I think I will by a bottle and share it with my friends. :3
