If you learned while pregnant your baby would have Down Syndrome would you have it? In order to make the decision you need to be aware of all the ups and downs of Down Syndrome and all the difficulties this child will endure as both a child and an adult. Could you both emotionally and mentally deal with it? Could you financially afford it? I fortunately am not with child (already have 4) and not in this situation, but I have seen this situation. I personally do not know what I would do but would lean towards not having it.

Abort, I wouldn't have to think about it twice. I don't understand people who would keep it. It would never have a normal life and would just be a drain on society and the family. I don't understand why anyone who knows ahead of time there kid is abnormal why they would decide it was a good idea to keep it. Yep abort would be me.

My husband and I have made a decision not to have children but in the past when I even considered having children I always thought to myself that if I found out I was carrying a child with Downs, I would have the pregnancy terminated as I don't feel I am emotionally strong enough to cope with it. I know there are people out there who have coped with a Downs child and are very happy about it but me personally, I would not be able to do it. I hope it doesn't make me sound heartless but I am being honest :)
