Mother Nature..it has been so kind to human beings in providing to us all the comforts that it can bestow. Man , in turn exploited Nature by making her lose her balance. Indiscriminate felling of trees, building up dams, disposing off industrial waste into lakes and rivers - all these have destroyed the peace of Nature's equilibrium .. Now it is Nature's turn to punish us ...hence the soil erosion, the tsunami and other calamities. Be kind to Nature, for she is our mother .

I think that people have done damage to the planet. I am not sure if you can blame man for all natures calamilty. I think mother nature has been reaking havoc since the beginning of time. There has been blizzards, tsunami's, tornado's, and floods for ever. These desasters have always taken its toll on human and animal population as well. I am sure that humans have contributed to the desasters but not the only cause. I am not sure that the dinosours did anything that caused them to be extinct. I think that was mother natures call.
I also think that one day the poles will change. The states that are sunny and hot will become cold states. There is always change some for the better and some not so good. People should be ware of the damage they are doing to the enviroment.

I have never understood why men want to kill each other when nature does this so much better. Nature can be cruel or kind and no matter what man does she will always win. I love to see old, ruined building where nature has reclaimed them with her beauty.

There is a simple rule of nature.
What you give it,Will return in multiples.
If you take care, love mother nature. It will care for you in multiples.
If we try to disturb it.It will return you,not in disturbance but in penalty(i.e. multiple).
Latest FLOODS in various parts of country are the examples.
Also nature says,choice is your's.

I totally agree with you! i just hate how people do not care about things which are happening around us... some of my friends think that what we are doing is perfectly normal and he does not even realise that global warming is coming our way... it is quite depressing how people can be so selfish... Nature is in our hands, and at the same time, we are in mother nature's hands.... she can do anything to us, kill the whole world, EASILY!

This is very true. There is no way humans can continue to use the planets resources as we have, and not have some side effects. One of the most serious is the hole in the ozone layer. This is already directly affecting us, by the solar caps melting. When they have melted too much, countries like Australia will be affected.
We all knoiw that it is the noxious emissioins we put in the atmosphere that has caused the hole in the ozone layer.

Nature has always been unpredictable in many respects. You may not be able to predict a hurricane or tsunami, but we know that over the course of time they will occur one place or another. These a natural happenings for the earth to maintain balance and release pent up energy. If there were only a few million inhabitants on earth, there would be far fewer people killed. But since there are many more people on earth than ever before, we sort of get in the way of mother earth and her natural events.

Mother Nature has been kind to us, I agree. However, I do not agree that Mother Nature is punishing us now. Being a mother, she will never be unkind to us. In my opinion, it is we who created teh problems for ourselves. It is the law of cause and effects. We reap what we sow.

Hi sukumar794,
This one's a high quality discussion.
As you said, Nature can act either ways. The reason is ofcourse man. Man's greed to lead a luxurious life makes him destroy forests, rivers and animal resources.
But finally the sufferer is also man. What he gives, he gets back the same in one or the other form.
Natural beauty is slowly disappearing. Everything is getting urbanised now. As a result, the climate is affected terribly and hence there'll be so many fluctuations in climate.
Whatever evil man does for his luxury, is definitely getting an equally opposite reaction in some way.
Newton's law holds here too.
" Every action has an equal and opposite reaction "
+ to you :-)
