Well my daughter is getting married on Monday. They have opted for a quick wedding at the Justice of the peace for now. A year or so down the road they plan a big wedding. She wanted to get married sooner than planned so this is their decision. I love it as I don't have to wear a suit/tux. I've worn a tux opnce in my life and that was at her first wedding. Anyhow the wedding is at noon. I am wearing dress pants and dress shirt. No suit, no tie for me. She said dress casual. I asked if my shorts, tank top, sandals, and a bandana in my hair was casul? HAHAHAHA! Well after the wedding I have planned a day of gambling fun at a nearby casion, Treasure Island resort and Casino for the wife and I. She is taking the whole day off & we seldom get together for a whole day without housework getting in the way. So this is my day as well as my daughters. Heres where I am going to. It's about 25 miles from the wedding site. Have a great day/evening all. This pic is of my daughter during her modeling days.

I am not real clear, you have one son, and one daughter, right? She is marrying the home improvement guy, and I think that is great. Casual is good, tuxes are greatly overrated. Is your wife getting something new? What will she wear? I am excited for you, getting a cool son in law, and also excited that the two of you (you and Bob's wife) get to spend a day together for a change. I really value those times with my hubby as they do not happen much lately. Go, and win big for me, since I do not do casinos, or gambling, not that lucky. Happy wedding, happy family time.

Oh Grandpa, it all sounds like such fun! Isn't it nice to have a day to spend with your wife doing something fun and away from home? I so enjoy days like that w/ my hubby, although we havn't had one all summer. *frowns*. This has been a summer centered around our two teen's activities and getting the one ready to leave for college. Have a grand time and win a bunch of money!

That's one reason I am so happy my children are gorwn up and moved out. Lot's of freedom for us at times. We plan on having a blast. This is a time rarely seen here as she is a workaholic. Maybe this will also lower her tension, stress, and blood pressure for a day anyhow. HAHAHA!!

LOL!! Shorts and tank top!! Heeheehee!!! Seriously, it sounds like it will be a lot of fun. It's nice to do the "Big Wedding" thing the first time around, but after that everyone should know that it's the love and commitment that's important, not the clothes!!!! I can understand the bride wanting the big white dress and kind of playing princess for the day, but simpler is always better. JMHO! Have a great day and don't loose the ranch at the casino!

Her first wedding, I swear it was a $20,000 wedding. My wife and I spent around $10,000 easily. It was beautiful too. Ranch? HAHAHAHA!

Nothing wrong with a wedding with the Justice of Peace. Thats is how my huibby & I got married two yerars ago. It was in the Registery Office. No meetings, no planning, you just book it& turn up on time. We are not plannjing a biog wedding down the track, no weay.
It is a lot cheaper this way. The JP's office was attractive & there was just enough seats for the 40 people we invited.
I did wear a wedding dress.
Have a very time at your daughters wedding.

I wish the happy couple all the best. I know you like him very much. I am glad you get to spend the day with your wife also. Do not spend to much money gambling. hahaha
My hubby and I are going to Lake Tachoe this weekend to see our son. He works for the Amazon.com company and they are having an employee picknic and family is invited. He wants us to come. Yayaya.
We will leave tomorrow and come home Monday. My husband is then taking the whole week off of work. He then can get some much needed rest and get some work around the house done. Yayaya. I have a long honey do list.
I will take lots of pics.
Congrats to the happy couple.

Baaahhh, Grandpa! You're supposed to wear tuxedos once in a while! They make you guys look so good! :D
Anyway, congratulations for your daughter's wedding. She looks very nice on the picture you posted. Oh, and have a lot of fun at the casino. I've only been to one once, in ViƱa del Mar (Chile). I had lunch in there and kept watching people playing, and that's all. I'm not much the gambler type! Hahahahaha!
Cheers, grandpa! See you!

I wore a tux once. That's pleanty of times for me. HAHAHAHA!! Oh we are definitely getting to the dinner buffet at the casino. That's one reason I go to casinos. Everyone I've even been to has great food at decent prices. Then I can gorge myself on their food. Tee hee.

If they are committed to their relationship why not just stick with the quickie wedding. Plan a reception to hold at a later date. Big weddings are nice, but they are expensive and what do you have to show for it when all is said and done?

Oh how fun Grandpa Bob- I bet it will be a great day- Why bother
spendong all the money on a BOG wedding- save it for other things--
house- remodeling- vacation, etc. And the gambling- that will be alot
of fun for your wife and you- I wish you luck! I hope you both win a
bunch of money! and have a great day together as well- Congrats to
your daughter and new son-in-law!

Make sure you enjoy every minute of it. I am glad you don't have to dress up. Casual is the way to go. Having grown children does make it nice around here too! Have fun and let us know how everything went.
