Women Construction Workers...

Before I started working in the construction business, I always thought of construction workers always being men. Every once in a while the thought would cross my mind of a woman doing some hard work, but always thought of the woman being a "butch" or whatever.
Now..I do not think that at all! I work for my finace's company. I paint, cut, and hang trim, finsih drywall, and sometimes even hang the drywall. Yes...this means I use powertools!
When people ask me what I do for a living..they usually so not believe me. I am a girly girl when I'm not at work.
I will never have preconcieved thought on this ever again! What do you think about it?

I see nothing wrong with women construction workers.
My ex fiance used to work for a concrete company and it was owned by both a husband and his wife.
The wife was a great concrete worker, maybe even better then her husband!
I couldn't ever see myself doing any physical labor though, but I bet if I had to, I could do it as well.

Yes...sometimes you see the women working harder than the men..haha. I really never imagined myself doing anything like it. It's really hard at times, but fun at times too. I figured I would just do it as a summer job, and now I have been doing it for over a year! I don't work on the roofs, or frame the buildings..nothing like that. I do the smaller, detailed work. Thanks for responding:)

I have always believed that women could do anything they wanted just as good as any man.I have proved that several times myself doing 'manly' jobs.And no,I'm not at all butch.I think that most women simply don't want to do such jobs because they're not precieved as 'feminine'.I myself like physical work and doing unusual jobs.Right now I'm working in the window screen business and work right along side the guys and even show them a thing or two.So ladies,you need a job don't be afraid to try something different.You just might like it.
