One thing I don't like about my job.

When you have a day off you need to drive to town to pick up your schedule for the following day. They are toying around with a phone system that will allow you to call in for your schedule. Because it is the weekend the schedule is a bit more complex. There are pages of information that you need to have with you when making your home visits.
I now have to drive to town (15 minute drive) to pick up the schedule for the weekend. What a waste of time.

Not a waste of time unless you don't take care of other things while in town. Instead of spreading them out across the week you can get them all done on Friday, when it is normaly raining anyway. lol
That could also be a chance to stop at the donut shop or flower shop or cafe for a treat. It is all in how you choose to look at it. Good luck with this.

I wish I did have something to do in town to make it a worthwhile trip.

It seems they think that you should be on the call 24/7. Why couldn't they have given you the schedule on Friday before you left work or put the schedule on their web site? It sounds they are not thinking.

Hello, elusivebutterfly~I agree with the one person that said why couldn't they Email the schedule? In this day of computers, we can sit here in our nightgowns and get anything we need or want over the 'Net! LOL And with the price of gasoline that is so silly! For your sake, I wish they would do that through Email. Time and gas wasted. And they say the price of gas is not going down. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. They say with China becoming an industrial country, the demand for gas will be rising. The company I work for is trying to develop better hybrid parts for our cars so we won't be so dependent on oil. Sorry, I am getting off the subject! Hang in there! I'm sure it will get better!

I had to do this as well, although mine wasn't only but a couple of miles away. They would put them in a mailbox in front of the building if you didn't get there before they closed. It would help if they had a better system.

They are working on upgrading the system. I hope it happens soon.

The one thing I don't like about my job is my boss (probably like 90% of the rest of you). She is very finicky about certain things and is never happy with my work unless it is exactly the way she wants it to be. I though it might just be me but others agree is a bit fussy. Otherwise my job is great.

It does seem a little out of your way. It looks like they could give you a schedule for the weekend on Thurs. and email you any changes and paperwork you will need. They should at least pay for your time or gas to pick it up.

Oh that just isn't right. :( You'd think they would figure out something else for you, cause that is just a waste of time and more important a waste of gas. I hope they figure out something else that doesn't cause you to drive on your days off like that.

I hope they come up with a better system soon. It does sound like its a pain to have to do that. But like willowlady said, find something else to do while your there so it won't be quite a wasted trip.

That would be a waste of time. It would also take away from feeling like you have a day off becuase you still have to run to work. Another idea might be for them to scan the pages and email them to you or others that regularly use the internet.
I don't know how many pages you're talking about and realize it would create more work for someone else, but it might be an option?

What a waste of time. They need to come up with a better system. And the gas you have to use up by driving back and forth.

They need to come up with a better system than this. It's not fair to expect to drive in after work to pick up a roster. Why can't they have it ready on the days you are required to go into the office?
A phone system doesn't sound that effective if there are pages & pages.
What about emailing?

Yes I'd say that is a waste of time- I mean sure you need it- but why can't you just start the day (your work day) at the office on company time and pick up your routine for the day- that way you don't have to do work on your days off- Or how about e-mailing it to you so you are all ready- I would think that would drive me crazy too!

The one things that I dont like about my job is that, I need to keep awake a lot in the nights, as most of my clients timings is different from the place I work and so I have stay awake to solve their problems. Rest of the thing is very much fine with me.

That would be a big inconvenience, not to mention a big expense with the price of gas these days. Hopefully they will change this so that you don't have to make the drive anymore.
