I played on a casino...I was in need of money, and I decided to play. Don't ask what happened!

I don't need to ask. Casinos don't build those huge, fancy buildings if everyone wins like they tell you they do. I can say I won in Vegas. I played $5 worth of quarters and won $50. I quit while I was ahead!! Thanks for responding.

Look at what impulse buying did to Michael Jackson. He ended up broke. What does that tell the rest of us poor people? Thanks for your response.

I don't really do that. I have always been the kind of person to really think out every decision I make and weigh all the options first. Even when buying something, I search for the best deal possible.

The level headed type. I could have told that from your responses here on mylot. You have single-handedly gotten my posts more action this afternoon than I've ever had. I just hope mylot gets their problem corrected and gives me credit for all my responses. Thanks so much!

I tend not to buy things straightaway on impulse but look around first.

You have a lot of sense. I do too, but mostly it's because I don't have a lot of money and want to make sure I only buy the best quality and what will best meet my needs.

Unfortunately I do do things on an impulse. Not all the time though. I might be shopping and see something I thought I had to had, only to get back home and wished I had saved my money instead.

Don't you think that our fast-paced society makes all of us act on impulse sometimes whether we want to or not? We just sold our home in Tennessee. Our realtor has been all rush, rush with the paperwork. He wanted us to make the 800+ mile trip to Tennessee to sign the papers. We refused for obvious reasons. So he sent them with instructions that we get them notarized immediately and have them back to him no later than Monday. Otherwise the house isn't sold. We feel so pressured, but we want to sell the house, so we didn't take the time to really read things as thoroughly as we should have.

well, yes,i am an impulsive person, and usually if i feel like doing something i do it.. life is too short to think it over and over, and in the end, when you draw the line, you will wonder what you did with your life..i rather have memories, good or bad..after all we all learn from experience

You've made a lot of good points here. I've been burned too many times to be too courageous now. Thanks for sharing your perspective of the subject.

I'm not an impulsive person. I am sure I have probably done something in my life that was impulsive. I just don't remember it. I usually think and rethink things before following through.

12 years ago, yeah i have done things on impulse. Never cared about the outcome. Now that i am grown up i don't do it anymore. I have learned to be more patient and think before i do anything.

I think most of us become more sensible as we grow older and have more experience behind us. The really young are out to set the world on fire and rash enough to think they can handle any situation that comes their way. Thanks for your response.

Yes I often do and usually it works out fine but I have done things without thinking them through and it has cost me a lot of time, effort and money. I think I am a little more careful now.

I would imagine that we all regret impulse decisions from time to time. Sometimes we make the right decision, but a lot of times we end up dealing with a real mess. They've always said, "Look before you leap", and it's good advice. Unfortunately, sometimes we "Leap before we look" and fall into a pit.

Yes I am quite impulsive. Once some persons were doing picnic at my experimental research plot, I was really angry and threw them out and spoiled their party.

I looked at your profile because I knew you had to be very young. You're lucky to be able to have the time to think things over before reacting. Good for you, though.

I don't usually do any impulsive decisions, so I can't think of any. Sorry. I tend to think it out first.

I'm SO not impulsive.. or I wasn't... and then I met someone completely by accident online, and then he came all the way from GA to NY and I met with him. We've been together for 3 years now, and I've become a more impulsive person thanks to him. I used to have trouble buying a book at Barnes and Noble! I'd go in the store and convince myself that I don't really need the book.. But then last summer I called him up and said "hey, I'm coming over, I'll see you next week." And I booked a flight right then and there to GA, for that Thursday. It's such a great feeling, to be able to break away from what's expected. And I'm proud to say that I've bought a few books since I met him.
