Is your pet the head of the household?

I was putting away dishes today and I have several plastic margarita cups that my cat drinks out of. As I was putting these away I was thinking "where is a better place to put Bootsie's dishes?" Bootsie's dishes? Oh boy. And as I thought about it, Bootsie has all kinds of things, even Bootsie's bedroom, which I swear started out belonging to me. I know I'm the one who spoiled her, but geez she settled into the role as Queen very easily. Do your pets get special attention?

Yes. My cat is the boss. i never realized when he got promoted but yes he is the boss... when he wants something he must get it at once otherwise there will be trouble... if he doesn't get the food in the morning (i have to wake up first :D ) he starts to lightly chew on my ankles. when he wants to go out you must open the door for him (it doesn't matter that he can do it himself---he is wise enough to let himself in but to go out no to lazy). He gets a loot of special attention

LOL--ah..another nutcase pet owner! Yes, my two darlings, Pyewacket and Kissy own me and my apartment, not the other way around....They "allow" me to sleep in my bed in which I sleep like a pretzel..but oh, must disturb them! They have their own set of dishes, the sofa belongs to them and I rarely sit on it..when I wake up heaven forbid I start my own breakfast first, but have to fed them first ..So do my kitties get special attention...uh, you bet!!

It is amazing....most times my cats will curl up like a tight ball if sleeping on the floor...but not on my bed...oh, yes, they've mastered the art of stretching out then

I just have a hard time believing that a cat, no longer than a foot and a half, needs half of the bed to sleep on. Bootsie gets on the bed and stretched out so much! Like gumby or stretch arm strong.

Yep, my life pretty much revolves around my pets. Even though they have several bowls of fresh water, I have to keep the sink water running just a bit so they can get a drink if they want to. I keep blankets laying all around so they have something to lay on. Yes, I believe they run my house.lol.

I got tired of dealing with the running sink, so we bought the cats a fountain that has filtered water.

Bootsie doesn't drink out of the faucet, but she does like her water fresh, with ice. I've seen those fountains at the store but I bet she wouldn't like it if it didn't keep the water cold.

Like the old saying, dogs have owners and cats have servants, and I do believe this to be very true...

I dont think they are head of the household but they are very much a hugh part of it. My husband and I have gone to the DQ for ice cream and have taken the dogs with us for ice cream too. They are part of the family but not the head. They dont sleep on the bed but they will sleep on the couch. They are under my feet all of the time. I cant even go to the bathroom without them following me in there. I love my dogs.

As I've always said, my cat lets me live here as long as I pay the mortgage.

Hahaha!!! I know exactly how you feel! I bought a new mattress a little bit ago and Bootsie is kind enough to let me have a teeny tiny bit of it.

Oh yes, our two cats and the two birds are very over pampered. I think the cats are the worst. We just returned from Disney and they got Disney Cat treats and a Disney food mat (I would have gotten them Disney food bowls too but all they had was plastic). Vanessa definitely knows she is the queen of the household and actively plays the role.

Oh you bet they do! We have two very spoiled 70 pound dogs, Tasha and Cherokee..and 5 very spoiled cats just under a year old. They all live pampered lives. The cats are indoor pets...and the dogs...well they are outside more in the summer...and to do their business. Other than that, they are indoor animals. My hubby and I are always waging a losing battle to keep the floors clean. There are clumps of hair everywhere. The cats have no off-limits territory either...and they think our bedroom is theirs too! We finally had to close the door at night because the queen size bed doesn't have enough room for all 7 of us at one time. I believe our pets 'train' us rather than the other way around. If your Avatar is Bootsie...Bootsie sure is a cutie! Fun post...thanks!
