i am currently on jury duty and though i cannot discuss my case at all, how on earth do juries ever come to a unanimous verdict?? we have several choices and we can't even agree to rule out any of them. of course we've only "deliberated" 2 hours sofar.

I was on a jury once, we did not need a unamimous verdict it was a civial case so you needed a quarm which is 9. I disagreed it was a lady sueing Costco for a bump with a shopping cart. She was old and had arthritis and claimed she got the arthritis because of the bump from the shopping cart. It did not even knock her down or make her foot fall off the bottle rung of the cart. They awarded her 30K. I was so mad. One of the reason the jury gave her 30K was because costco did not have a representive there they sent their lawyer. Also the daughter got on the stand and said now mom could not ride her bicycle with her grandkids anymore or ride her horse any more. I felt it was a bunch of bull. I was so angry. When the judge pulled the jury I told the truth why I voted no. I was the only one who voted against the settlement. One guy just wanted it over with so he could go home on his motor cycle before it started to rain. That is how he takes his civic duty.

omg i wish i was on that jury. this is not a civil case, it's very serious yet we have one juror that believes this guy deserves a second chance so she's willing to say not guilty even tho she knows that he's guilty, she sais she knows he's guilty but there is no way she will return a verdict of guilty because he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
