when I was rushed to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack that I have acid reflux. They put me on Prevacid. That prescription is really high priced does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives to help me feel more comfortable and cope with it?

try asking the pharmacist if a generic is available for Prevacid.
Generic Name: Lansoprazole
you SHOULD be able to buy it at a much cheaper price than the brand name version.

Yes, white vinegar. Just a few tablespoons and the heartburn is gone. I have done this so many times and it works within a few seconds. I have told a lot of others, and they say it works for them too. I actually heard about this home remedy on a TV show promoting a book for such things. All home remedies. I now wish I had ordered the book. But I can probably pick up something at the book store that would be similar to the one on TV.

Hello there! I had acid reflux for almost two years and the doctors gave me a lot of proton pump inhibitors like prevacid. The medicine gave me temproary relief but did not really cure the reflux so I started looking for alternative cures. Fortunately, I am now relative free of acid reflux thanks to high alkaline diet, yoga and lots of apples and honey.

Dont try treating gastritis with allopathic medicines for a long time, it would only harm you, go to a ayurvedic store near by and get avipattikar churna. As for home medications, eat loads of banana, milk helps a lot, soaked fenugreek seeds in the moerning and fennel seeds after meals also help.
