Hi,
I am currently working on a short story. It is a fiction based story and I got the plot figured out. I'm not sure how long it will be. The main plot involves a story that could potentially turn into a series called The Vampire Devil's Legend. I figured something like that would be different and unique.
It's a project I've worked on a few times but I think I might have found the right plot. I will probably have it done and I'm hoping to shoot for the end of this year. What I'm probably going to do is type it out and try to eliminate spelling errors and grammer if I can do so as well. The next step would be to publish and probably make a cover.
My question would be for those who have experience in publishing is what is the best place to publish at and how does that work out for you? I'm wondering that for future reference.
This would be my 1st book ever published and hopefully not my last if people like the story I write and try to continue it. I will actually try not to leave the books in cliffhangers and never finish the series. If I'm going to start a series, I'm going to make sure to have an epic conclusion.
It could go up to 5 stories but it will depend on how it is well-received and how the ideas are coming about to make them seem different than each other. Think of it as adding more to the story and then once the conclusion is met, then it's over and there's no more.
Does anyone know what is a good place to publish a book at based on experience? I'll be interested in the responses. Thanks for your time.

Just wanted to wish you the best. I have difficulty finishing a paragraph. But, it does not stop from dreaming.

I would like to suggest you to find some other friends who write stories and open your own book store. Publish in the form of ebooks first to cup down the overhead costs and easier marketing ( you can sell all over the world in minutes or maybe seconds). An ezine of new books reviews and a forum of reader feed backs. The virtual world makes it possible for you to do all these possible for far less cost and immediate feedback. But, be in mind there's no guarantee of success. Hope this helps:-)

you could look up big publishing companies (HarperCollins, etc, in the USA at least) and look on their site about sendinf manuscripts. if it's good enough, they might be interested in publishing it. its never a sure thing whether its going to get published or not
