The Lower PayScale Really Seems To Be Hurting myLot. - What do you think?

I know a lot of people say they don't belong to myLot because of the money, but I believe that most people do post here to earn a little extra income. It seems as if the payscale has gone so far down that it's almost impossible to reach the $10 payout without spending a huge amount of time here at myLot. It seems as if the days of getting paid better for quality posts are over with. When I first came to myLot it was easy to earn over $20 monthly with a little time, effort and quality posts. Now it seems as if you get little or nothing for your posts regardless of how much time and effort you put into them. I think because of this,a lot of people have left myLot and moved on to other things. I always check discussions my friends started and I'm seeing less and less of them here at myLot these days. Another place I like to visit is today's top discussions. I remember when the top discussions all had replies of 30 or above. Today I saw some top discussions with only 12 replies. That would seem to suggest that the lower payscale has a overall negative effect on myLot. I really hope things change for the better and myLot gets back to where it used to be. I really like myLot and would hate to move on like so many others have done. This is just my opinion. What do you think? Lloyd

I was first drawn to MyLot by the prospect of making a little money, lloydanthony, but I quickly became interested in the friends I was making and the community at large. I have not been here long enough to comment on the pay scale, but I just try to put in a little extra effort to make my time pay off while I enjoy the bonus of making new friends.

I understand what you are saying. Some of your friendships can be more important than the money, but since this a site that pays to post or respond to discussions, they shouldn't have decreased the earnings so much with at least an explanation. Lloyd

I have been thinking the same thing. I keep hoping that things are going to start looking up. I am spending less time on Mylot now than ever. I have already started looking into other things to do because this hardly seems worth it anymore. From what they paid before and what they are giving out now, it seems almost like an insult. Although, I love the friendships and everything on Mylot, at the end of the day, I want to know that I earned something. I was never able to get into this stuff before Mylot, because no one else paid. I recently put all my 103 friends on notify, I thought something was wrong with it, but now that you mention it, there are quite a few friends that I have not come across in a while. This is really getting sad for me.

The difference in pay is really noticable. The sad part is that you establish friendships here and it's hard to just pack up and leave. There are more than a few friends that I have not come across in a while. It seems as if a lot of them have moved on. For example I have made more writing 2 articles for Associated Content than I'm going to make all month here at myLot. I still like myLot and would never leave, but like you, I'll probably be spending less time here in the future. Lloyd

I to have nticed this. I have only$4.00 made this month and I usually have made $10.00 by now. Maybe because it so getting some of the same topics over and over I haven't a clue but I would hate to see mylot go down. I love coming to mylot talking and meeting new people and talking to the friends I did meet here at mylot. I have also noticed the relpies going down a bit. I will stay till the end because I like it and most the people here and it gives me a sense of comfort to login in to mylot because I know they e always people waiting to talk and post and help me answer questions and give me well directed advice..So here to mylot. rah! rah!

I don't think the reason is because of getting some of the same topics over and over. It seems as if they have stopped paying more for quality posts. I also would hate to see myLot go down. You can come here and discuss just about any topic and find answers to questions you may have. It's a great site, but it's also a place that people come to earn additional income. myLot has to continue to make it worthwhile for these people. Lloyd

People have been saying this ever since I joined myLot 7 months ago... and I still don't see it. I have earned $39.00 for 1075 answers without referrals. Since the beginning I have worked on getting 3 cents per answer and I still seem to be getting that. 90 per cent of the people on myLot are not following the rules. They are chit chatting with 3 or 4 lines answers. That's why they don't earn money. You break the rules... you don't get paid. I have said this many times before when answering this sort of questions. To get maximum payout... your answer needs to be between 12 and 15 lines. That is what myLot calls "quality answer". There are a lot of ordinary questions on myLot... and it is impossible to give a 15 lines answer to those questions. So I simply don't answer them. If you have to chit chat... do it in the "comment"... but not in the answer.

Thanks for that valuable information. I will try to work within the guidelines that you mentioned. I've also been here at myLot for 7 months and I haven't changed the way I post or reply to discussions, but have still noticed a decrease in my earnings. I'm not sure what the cause of this. Lloyd

Perhaps... they did decrease the payout of those who break the rules by replying with 3 lines. It is also possible that they have changed their payout to pay us less for one thing in order to pay us more for another. I will try to figure out in the next few days if I am still getting my 3 cents for each answer.

thank you for giving out so much details. I guess I never took the time to read the rules. My answers have been pretty brief too. Again thank you

Hello Laydee. Reaching a $20 payout was within reach every month in the past. I'm having a difficult time reaching $10 this month also. Something has changed. I wish myLot would tell us what's going on. Lloyd

I just recently joined mylot. However, when I checked with others about it, there was mention that it takes forever to reach the payout anymore. I know of several people that suggested I do other things with my time instead. I like the different discussions and that is the primary reason that I chose to drop in and give it a try. At the rate I'm going daily, I'm not anticipating earning the payout anytime soon though. Wonder where others are going to.

I was just looking at the earnings I received when I first started at MyLot. I was getting payouts of at least $25. The most I received was nearly $70. Those days are long gone. Yesterday I responded to 54 discussions and posted a couple of discussions of my own and received 56 cents for my efforts. I didn't make pay-out for June. July will bring me $10 and some change. I am glad that I do not think of this as a full-time job.

A couple of days ago I did 40 responses & only earned 38c. There is no way I am going to reach my $10.00 mininum this moth. We are going to have to find a new site, where us friends can chat, that psys a lot more.

We all agree that something happened with the payscale here at myLot. It's going to take me 2 months to reach payout for the first time since joining myLot. myLot is not designed to provide full-time income. However it would be nice to be compensated accordingly. Lloyd

I did join because of the money. I have made friends and have made it a point to get their emails. One never know what will happen in the everyday computing world. It is true that they pay has reduced and the numbers really don't have anything to do with it. Out of the currently 101,444 paricipantes only a certain amount are actually active. Along with the reduction in money, the glitches which have finally lessened, the deletion and non communication from Management has all hurt this site. Anonymous moderators is never a good thing either. I miss the heyday of quality and not so quality discussions from my friends. I have so many more friends and alot less notifications to respond to. I can make the 10 dollars in a month but that is not worth alot of my time anymore. Good thing I have spend some time starting other things that do pay off like they offer. I am here unless kicked off which could happen and am here until the fateful end if and when that happens too. Good luck to you.. I subscribed to you at AC. Happy Writing!

With dial-up, it's a struggle for me to make payout. I won't make it this month, I'm earning less than 1c a post now. I know we're supposed to post quality discussions but I don't understand what basis this has for our earnings. Some of the lamest posts get numerous responses because the poster is popular. Some great posts get few responses because the post is way over a lot of people's heads. We are paid for out posts at the time of updating but a post that is receiving lots of resonses may continue to recieve them for weeks so we seem to earn only on the first day for that post. Like, if I miss a day or two because I can't be here, I earn nothing even though people are still responding to my discussions on the days I'm away. My hope is the same as yours. I hope it gets better like it was before, or even better than it is now. Otherwise it seems we are going to be just another unpaid forum.

I can imagine how hard it must be to post here at myLot using dial-up. If myLot would just explain everything to us then we would know what they expect of us. The payscale has never been fully explained. Hopefully things will change for the better soon. Lloyd

i think that you are right. I am not here for the money and i do know that many other friends that i know are not hear for the money. I am sure that we would be here even if it would not have been a paying site. But it is a paying site, and we are here for a long time now, and know that this site evaluates our discussions by paying us. And this drop down in earnings, are making us feel that are discussions are not appreciated. I know that now days i earn between three to five cents, a few months ago i earned between a dollar to two each day, so yes it doesnt feel good.

That is the point I'm trying to convey. myLot is a paying site and we have all noticed a dramatic decrease in earnings. If that would have happened with any other online business you belong to, you would question them also and ask for an explanation as to what is going on. I'm not bad mouthing myLot. I just want to know why our earnings dropped so significantly. Lloyd

When I came to Mylot.com it was for the money. I got to do something I enjoyed and got money out of it, too. Now, I have friends here that I would miss a lot if I left. Yet, I can see the major changes at Mylot and I am disappointed. I know someone was cheated out of $60 on Mylot and have heard of others, too. Just the other day I did a discussion and was not paid for it. I wrote to them about it and they said they felt there must be some issue. What kind of answer is that? What it means is that they have no interest in looking into it and making it right. I have seen people get those kind of responses from Mylot way too much. Dorm Check scammed a lot of people as did AW Surveys. When you see these things happen at Mylot, you say..is Mylot next? I have a lot of interests that give me pleasure. Mylot is only one of them. If they raised their standards, I would be here more often. I make very little from Mylot so I don't post or start discussions as much. My discussions are not as high quality anymore because fewer people respond and I get paid little for it either way.

Regardless of what people say, most people want to earn a little extra income here at myLot. I'm also disappoointed in the changes here at myLot. I hope myLot isn't the next to slide downhill. It is a wonderful site and I would hate to loose it. Hopefully they will begin to pay better for quality discussions. Lloyd

I feel so sad on these discussions of yours.I am very sorry that I missed out the golden era of mylot.Probably I am here in mylot at a time of lag and low payment. But sometimes I think to hell with the money.I am here to make friends and not money.I actually have earned more than what I could by joining here.So many people helping me out in so many things.I really love this place.I would remain here even if there was no money involved in here.

Hello Dafnie. I don't want to discourage you from posting here at myLot. Give it a try and see how it works out for you. All I am saying is that my earnings seem to be half of what they used to be. Hopefully myLot will adjust back to the previous payscale. Lloyd P.S. Welcome to myLot. I hope you like it and meet many new friends.

I have just started here but I would have to agree that if more and more people are leaving MyLot, that it may in fact be because of the lowered pay scale they have now. But also, perhaps they had to lower the pay scale due to more and more people. I'm not quite sure, but I would say that if they lose enough members, the pay scale will go back up.

I know a lot of people say they post here for the friendships that they have developed. But I'm going to assume that the majority post to earn extra income. Hopefully the payscale will go back up. LLoyd

Interesting. I haven't been here much lately but it still struck me as odd that I haven't reached a payout in three months. It does seem as if it was easier in the beginning. My first payout was also over $20 and it seemed to just come. Now, it's like pulling teeth. Still, the thing that upsets me more is that fact that so many of my friends aren't here anymore. I really miss "Fifty" and "Double" and "Ashida" and a few others.

I absolutely agree with you 100%. I dont even check out discussions from users who are not on my notifications list. I have become so tired of seeing the same topics over and over again which I have already answered countless times. My friends usually do not post the same topics repeatedly.

Hi heather. Long time no see. I agree with you. Finding discussions to respond to is getting more difficult. Sometimes it seems like the trivial discussions such as "Pepsi or Coke, What is your favorit?" gets more replies than serious topics. I only hope the old myLot returns. It was so much better then. i agree with you completely, Lloyd. i have seen A LOT fewer posters here at myLot. i have had friends on my list actually make farewell posts saying that when they started here, they weren't here for the money, but now the lower payscale is an insult and is only frustrating, so they are moving on to something else. i completely understand! It IS incredibly frustrating. i try to post quality posts every time i post here, and lately it doesn't seem to matter. my earnings have eatly decreased. Honestly, i am starting to think about leaving becuase it is a frustration to me. i don't want to leave...i am online at night regardless...and i want something to do other than just chat with friends. However, the frustration level is getting to be not worth it. i am seriously hoping myLot reads this discussion (and others about the lower pay scale) and realize they have to step it up again.
