I have beem in a dilemma recently .Someone tried to abuse a relative's child.Fortunately, he was revealed in a proper time but he deserves to be prosecuted.
I am in a dilemma about what to suggest. The law says pulishment. The christian religion says forgiveness.
I really do not know what to do. I prefer pulishment but I also think of forgiveness.
Some people are weak in character. They need support. Should they be prosecuted?

I am a christian and i say punishment, crime against a child is for me a heinious crime, no forgiveness, children cannot defend themselves, and its up to us to protect them, protect them from the offenders by means of the law, that is the only way offenders will come to realize just how heavy the crime they committed against children
Punish them, or it will happend again!

I was abused as a child sexually by my mothers boyfriend. She chose not to even believe me when I told her.Although my own father did believe me he chose forgivness. This man was allowed to walk away from it all even though I am still haunted by it over 16 years later.
The law is the ONLY way to make these predators realise what they do to those they abuse. I don't know how people can say it was just a moment of weakness & it will not happen again. It WILL & it DOES.
