What's the one thing you did for your spouse that touched their heart?

As for me, i don't make a one time thing of doing something for my husband. I usually do something for him in simple and ordinary ways. I like to please him and make him happy. But i remember one thing that i did for him that really made him speechless. It was when I deliberately did not greet him on his birthday and just acted as if I have forgotten about it. He was waiting for me to greet him as soon as his birthday came. And boy, was he totally disappointed. He looked as if he was a little boy denied his little wish. When he went to his desk to get something, he got the surprise of his life. There on top of his desk was my gift and a simple birthday card written with a special message. He just went up to me and gave me this sweet smile and he simply hugged me.

I tuck little love notes into my husband´s pockets when he goes off to work. Not all the time, just once in a while, so it is a surprise! The best thing I did for him was for Father´s Day. He wasn´t here for the actual day, but I traced my toddler´s hand and my newborn´s hand onto paper and had my toddler color it. Then he helped me stick pieces of bright tissue paper onto a homemade card. We pasted the handprints on top and I wrote a little note inside, saying "Happy Father´s Day, we love you, Papa. Love, Dorian and Dante." Then my toddler scribbled his own little mark in there. My husband got tears in his eyes when he received that card!

My sister did those little love notes too for her husband. But I think she stopped doing it eventually, said that her husband don't know how to appreciate what she was doing. Anyway, what you did will be never forgotten by your husband. Things like that make us more precious to our husbands. I just wish they can do the same thing for us....sigh.

I would never pretend I had forgotten someone's birthday. I hate surprise birthday parties and making someone feel bad all day on their birthday letting them think that everyone had forgotten. That's just me though :) My husband turned 40 this year. He categorically told me that he didn't want any party and I know when he's serious or not. He said he just wanted to spend it with me. So after giving him a birthday kiss in the morning and birthday card (I was buying him a very expensive designer suit later on that week that he wanted to pick out himself) we both went off to work. I left work early and bought a helium balloon for a 40 year old and put up some decorations in our living room and bought him lots of little gifts as well as about a dozen other birthday cards from me as a surpise and when he came home from work I was waiting for him with a bottle of champagne and his surprise party for just the two of us! He really loved it and said it was a wonderful surprise. Even when people asked him about his birthday for months afterwards he said he had the best birthday ever, especially as I didn't go against his wishes and arrange a big party as he would have hated that. He often mentions it when he's in a romantic mood about how nice the surprise was :)

Hey, that was so sweet of you. You really gave him a very special memory to cherish for a long, long time. As for me, i love doing surprises. A surprise visit, surprise gift, anything that can be done as a surprise.LOL.
