some say that for us to become successful, influential, etc. we need to earn a degree...but how come there are succesful individuals who haven't earned any degree yet successful?...isn't just a waste of time spending your schooling for how many years than just start earning experiences and persevering a lot for us to become successful?...or can we say that it's just up to the person itself?...what do you think?

Earning a degree is important. I believe that though many are successful without earning degrees. But you get better chances of getting a good job when you earn a degree. And also, if you look at the holistic aspect of it, getting a degree develops your character. So, yeah, I believe it is very important.

so do you mean that you really need to have a degree just to have a good job?...and having a good job means success?.....uhhmmm...i don't think so...let see...if you were to picture a situation just like this one...a person was hired because of his/her skills not even earning any degrees at all..started in low position then later on get promoted..how come?...because as a person work and earn experiences he/she was able to learn a lot of things from it and through these experiences he was able apply it on work and later expands its capabilities....let me give you another one..a person without a degree and all he has was the cabability to add-subtract digits, started a small business and then later on the business grows and become successful..can be isn't?..well anyways thanks for your response....i appreciated it a lot

Earning a degree is important only if it is required for your chosen profession. The greatest successes in life do not look for a job but create their own because they are entrepreneurs. These are the people who become the greatest successes and going to school would only cost them time and money. If you plan to work for others typically a degree will help you make more than without but you make the most working for yourself.
