Alcohol... Is It The Best Solution...??

I have seen in movie or even in life that people who are desperated from something especially from love run themselves into alcohol. Is there any use? I can see that still tomorrow the problems will still unsolved and still will think of it again. Anyone of you done this before. Can you tell me why for I never drink eventhough how much I am desperated or depressed?
