Woke up this morning with a sore throat, anyone got ideas on how to clear this up? Gosh I hate summer colds, they have the power to linger a long time....

I will take Panadol if I have a sore throat. Although I know it will give me side-effects and is not herbal remedy, I will feel the effect of pain relieving.

Try Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger Tea If you can find it where you live. Add honey and lemon or orange to it and sip it.. It really does help!!

The best wat to get relief from a sore throat is to gargle with warm salty water. It would give you immediate relief.Drinking ginger tea would be a help.

I drink chicken soup when I have some. I also use hot lemon with honey, cayenne pepper, and some slivers of ginger. I drink plenty of water. I do not know what else to do, but they help. Oh and I avoid talking very loudly or for long periods of time.

I hate having sore throat, it feels so uncomfortable. Usually when I have sore throat, I'll try to avoid taking honey as it will cause flem to develop. I'll drink star-fruit juice as it had a soothing effect on sore throat.

Gargling can moisten a sore throat and bring temporary relief. Try a teaspoon of salt dissolved in warm water, four times daily. To reduce the tickle in your throat, try an astringent gargle -- such as tea that contains tannin -- to tighten the membranes. I also take hot liquids to relieve nasal congestion, prevent dehydration, and soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line my nose and throat.
