Would you change the way you feel about a wrestler if you knew this about them?

I love wrestling I have been watching it since I was 4. I remeber all the old wrestlers and I have a great respect for them all.
To get to my point I was watching a Christian tv network the other night where they talk to celebraties about their walk with God.
On the show was Sting(the wrestler)Lex Lugor(he wrestled back in the day with Rick flair),and the last person they spoke with was H.B.K. Shawn Michaels. He talked about how he married a Nitro Girl(WCW I beileve) and she helped him to find God and accept Jesus as his Lord.
Now having said all this does this change how you feel about the people I mentioned?
Do we forget that they are just people? They are playing a role on tv.
Your thoughts.

now thats a good question because I know a lot and I mean a lot of people hate cena mainly because they get into his role even though he is a good guy but if they met him then and he was nice to them then I would think they would like him because how can you hate someone who was nice to you but if they were mean then they would probally hate them more lol.

Thanks for saying that and I get what you mean. I like Cena but I guess everyone is different right?

I don't really have any feeling towards wrestlers. I know they are just making a living and just like all celebrities they have their own lives off the screen. It just is shocking when you are confronted with it, because you expect it but you don't see it too often on tv.

That is so true we don't always see the true person on tv no matter what field they may be it,and good or bad everyone has a side to them that may not be the one you see right now.

I don't think knowing a wrestler's religious beliefs would change how I think of them because I hold pretty much all religions as having equal value, but I would definitely feel differently about them if I found out they did a lot of charity work or things like that. *shrugs*
I think it's interesting that so many wrestling fans do get so caught up in the roles the wrestlers play that they think the person must really be like that. It is always interesting to find out things about their real lives, and how they are different from the characters they play.

I find that interesting too. But I have found myself doing the same thing and forgetting that they are not the exactly the same as the roles they play.
I am glad to hear that knwoing things about theses peoples personal life hasn't changed the way you feel about them. I wonder how many others share our opioin?

I don't think so their is any harm or else anything in following any particular religion. It depends on person to person. After all God is one than in whatever form u follow. And moreover they too have their own personal life which is obviously much different from their on the ring life.

Sometimes we forget they are not walways the same as the roles they play,I thought it would be nice to hear something good about a wrestler after the bad things we have heard so much of lately conserning wrestlers.
thanks

Their religious background makes no difference to me, is the same as us we have our work life and our personal life. I found it nice to read something positive about wrestlers after the past couple of weeks.

I agree Kitty1234 I think that's why I decided to post this discussion, after the horror of what happen with Chris I thought we could all hear some positive things about wrestlers.
I also agree about people in general we all have a life many don't see. Sometimes we are a tendances to judge a book by it's cover so to speak.
Thanks.

Knowing the relegious beleifs doesn't change the way we admire them as wrestlers. Relegious belifs are very private. As for HBK, everybody knows HBK is a true christain.

I never knew he was until the other night I know about several other wrestlers but didn't know he was,it makes me respect him even more. And I don't think it's private,he likes to tell everyone about it(when off stage) because he wants to bring others to God. Thanks for your reply.
