Hi knitters!
Recently the Hancock Fabrics store here closed down. Every thing was 75 - 90% off the lowest ticketed price. Before the sale I had very few knitting needles, I would only buy a set when I started a new project that required a different set of needles. They are super expensive, not like with crochet where you can buy a whole set of the sizes for less than $10!
Anyway, I was able to go needle crazy - big ones, little ones, circulars, double pointeds, etc.
My question to you is what do you use to organize your needles? I can't stand for things to be thrown away, I need something that can hold and have all my needles organized. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Sounds like you got some good deals. I just wish I could knit! That would be awesome. I should probably take a class, but I just don't have the time. I got a book on it, but the pictures were hard to follow. I want to knit!!

As an avid knitter this is something that I have struggled with for a while. While I don't think I have come up with the best solution, I have come up with something that works for me.
I bought a plastic case with a handle, it opens and closes almost like a briefcase. I keep my needles in their original packages and store them all in in this case. It makes it easy for me to carry them all aroundand at least my needles are all in one place.
There are people who make some really cool knitting needle cases and depending on how many you have, this might be a good option for you too. Check this one out:

LOVE SALES!!! Especially for anywhere that sells crafts-Lucky you! Years ago, I found a beautiful old wooden tool case with a top handle and inner insert that worked perfectly for knitting needles. So I organize all my embroidery skeins in the main compartment and store all my crochet and knitting needles in the insert. It's not very portable but it sits attractively on a table and everything's neat and tidy.

You should knit yourself a case for your needles. Check out Patons website for a free pattern on how to knit and felt a case. They sure do look fun, I just haven't tried them out yet. If you can get on Ravelry, do it. You can search for "knitting needle case" and there are a ton that pop up there. You can find any pattern you ever wanted on their website. Check it out!

that is a really good going out of business sale price like you the only time i would ever buy a new set of needles was when a project i wanted to start working of called for a different set than i had or if a pair of needles that i already had broke or if they were really dirt cheap and i could get them for a good deal knitting needles are really expensive to just be buying for the heck of it i dont blame you for stocking up on them while they were on sale i would too if i were you i just throw all of my needles in a basket with all my yarn and other knitting stuff but i read a post on here where a woman organized her needles in a glass vase and i liked that idea and i am planning on trying that way to look more organized
