I see so many discussions started here, simple questions that dont even need to be asked because they are stted out in the guidelines...Why do people not check the guidelines here..The answers for these are there in simple to read and very understandable...It is a click of one button..Is it laziness ???? And the amount of types of discussions that are posted here that should be due to the guidelines, yet great discussions are deleted that does not go against the guidelines.

i think it might be just a way for most to get started, people always look for a way to get information from others rather than searching out for themselves. i think also maybe people think there are the insider tricks that may not be outlined by the guidlines. if it annoys u then u should lead them up the garden path with some form of info or pretend codes that are needed just an idea

maybe the codes can only be seen in the guideline panel with the use of 3D glasses

Yes the irony is ridiculous isn't it honey! I suppose though when you are a newbie you aren't sure - even if you have read the guidelines! I know I probably posted some really stupid discussions when I first started - and some would say I still do! xxx

Yes, laziness, perhaps. But sometimes I think that when we first join we put anything out there just hoping for someone to respond and acknowledge us. I remember the feelng and try to check in on new user discussion now and then.

I dont understand this either. Guidelines are there for a reason, and people should read them. And i dont understand why good ones that seem like they have nothing wrong in them taken off. Just tonight, 2 friends discussions have been taken off that i tried to answer on. 1 was for a recipe the other about wieght. Dont see why they were gone. Best wishes to you, calais

Things can seem a little unclear around here at times...but overall I think I have the 'gist' of what we can and cannot do. I don't know how adminstration keeps track of things...they haven't responded to any of my e-mails so far..and I've sent about 5. For awhile I was really fed up with all the glitches on my site. They seem to have fixed the gltiches..and I am glad about that...but no response as to what is going on. How I am approaching things in my little corner of the big Mylot world is to keep posting discussions and making sure I respond to respondents. Yes, I know there is no money in that...but personally I do not care. If people are courterous to drop by and add to the talking points I'd feel rude if I didn't let them know I appreciate who they are and what they said. After that I add to their sites. I don't waste time and energy on the rudundant one-line quickie posts..not interested and I ususally have no idea what they're asking anway. Why they can get away with it beyond me. If I were a Mylot adminstrator I would reward the really dedicated mylotters who put some thought into what they post and respond to and work on a sliding scale for everyone else. But that is just my business woman's perspective.

I totally agree with you 100 %... Its got me mind blown how there is so much stupidity on this site and they constantly get away with it..The great posters should be rewarded and the no hopers should not be its that simple (I feel anyway). I too go out of my way to respond to responders I would feel rude also...Its not the money at all for me its the quality of the discussions and to me its getting pooer each day.

Well we do seem to have the same perspective on this one...and I thank you for the best reponse. It is unfortunate that Mylot does not seem to be upholding their own guidelines...particularly in the one-liner department. Anyway, glad to be chatting with you...and I am sure we will again.

It should be made compulsary for the guidelines to be read before joining, But I dont see how this would happen. I suppose we just have to put up with this nuisence for now.

I see it too- but when I was new I'm sure I asked alot of dumb questions also- I read the guidelines- and man there were alot of them- I got bored- and stopped- but you are right- if not reading the guidelines a simple search to see what others asked and what they learned- there are tons of the same discussions here only by different users!

Thats for sure, I really think that its just laziness, and really, there is not that many guidelines and they are quite simple.

I'm so with you on this one Calais. Also, the number of discussions on the same subjects, over and over. Another thing that gets me is a simple discussion is begun and most everybody responds the same thing! What happened to reading all the responses before adding your own - *shouts* Will somebody please explain!

Hi Calais, I wonder the same things. As for the great discussions getting deleted, I wonder if somebody at Mylot just blindly deletes every discussion that gets a complaint without even reading them. I've seen lots of discussions blaming the people that report them, but they arent the ones deleteing them. As for all the stupid one liner discussions that could be easily anwsered by reading the guidlines, maybe we should start reporting all of them. To me guidelines are just that, they are not called rules, just guidelines. Just my two cents, Terry

I feel like becoming a mylot reporter...lol. Only because all these one liners etc...are ruining it for the ones that actually put an effort into everything that they do on here..

Hello calais. I can understand what you mean. These type of threads stemmed out from the newbies who are still trying to figure out how this community works. I can't blame them really since I started out as a newbie. I even posted about star rating when I was about 3 days old here. Eventually, they will realize and regret the kind of discussions they posted initially. I'm no exemption to this. Being a newbie, we are still hyped up and getting the nerves to keep posting any threads that entered our mind. :)

I am sorry for the deleted discussions. I think mylot have the reason why. And mylotters need to read guidelines too. I think discussions that are in guidelines can be prevented or minimized if upon signing up we learn all the guidelines. God bless!

Yes, but as we can see, many many people simply do not read the guidelines.

Most of the time people are rushing. And they skip the important part of reading the guidelines. I think I skip some of them too. LOL. Am sorry about that, but atleast I read some promise. God bless!

If I'm not ever sure of something I always read the help / faqs and guidelines of a website. I've only used asking in a forum for example for helped at a last resort. But some people are to lazy and would rather ask them wait for someone to reply. Whatever happens you will never escape people doing this, so the best thing to do is just ignore them, or live with it. People never change, so I wouldn't get to worried about it. Hope this helps. :)

Im glad that you do what you do, I try to ignore it, its just very frustrating when every second discussion started is just absolute cr@p, when they can go to guidelines and check..
