Which Do You Prefer Netflix Or Blockbuster.com

I have to say that while I prefer Netflix, right now, I am not with either one of them. I like Netflix because they always have the movies that I want when I want them.
With Blockbuster, the waiting list for one movie can go on indefinitely. I was with Blockbuster first, but my mail man kept telling me to go with Netflix and I finally did.
The only problem now is that I have to purchase a DVD player, because most of the movies no longer play on my computer.

I tried both of them, and I liked Blockbuster better. The reason I liked it better was because when my husband and I suddenly got in the mood to watch a movie, we could take the movies we have rented via Blockbuster online back to our local Blockbuster store and trade them in for movies to watch right away. That was really neat and convenient for us.
However, since right now I'm budgeting very strictly because I'm out of work on medical leave, I had to cancel my Blockbuster online service. I do plan to start it up again once I have money though.

Yes, it's a fairly new thing that they have come out with. It gives you the best of both worlds. I guess they didn't like Netflix getting business so they added a similar feature and combined it with their store rentals. You get movies online and movies in the store for one monthy feel. There are more details on my response further down.

I had netflix for about a year. The problem with netflix is if a new release comes out, they only have a few copies of it. So you can be waiting for weeks and weeks for it come in the mail. Whereas with Blockbuster you can take the movies they shipped to you to your nearest Blockbuster and exchange them for a free movie of your choice. You can always get new releases the day they come out. Plus you get twice the amount of movies for half the price.

I rent from both myself. Blockbuster seems faster to me of course there place they send movies from isn't to far from me either. Netflix though the movies seem to play better. I had to return the first Air Buddies movie back to Blockbuster because it wouldn't play so when I got this one today I was glad that it played fine.

I keep getting fliers in the mail for netflix and have thought about it but not actually tried it. We are subscribed to cable so there are a few channels where we can pick and choose movies. They are old ones though.
We were given a dvd player and we don't use it. It was given to us for free and because we subscribe to cable we don't use it. We used it once and it worked. It does have the wires and remote. We use my sons playstation if my husband happens to pick up any dvds on his trips... so, you want it Rozie? I'm not joking or teasing you either.
We live in an apartment block and have a book shelf down in the garage storage area and if tenants don't want things then they put it on the shelf for people to take. My neighbor checks it everyday and tells me whats there and even brings stuff to our house. I just put a big stereo back down there because I was accumulating too much. I have a small one already so there really was no need for me to have this, but my neighbor thought otherwise. You should see the amount of stuff people throw away and they are in really good condition. I have a nice big sized mat, dvd player, an old printer, paintings, books, frames, lamps you name it they throw it. I even found a decent dresser for my sons clothes and a small two shelf bookshelf LOL saved me money thats for sure.
So if you want it let me know.

I do not own a DVD player so I am not a member of either. I am glad to hear a review of each so when the time comes I can make an informed decision on which to become a member of. Thanks

I have only had the problem once with Blockbuster online- of having to wait for a new release- and when this happened I went to the Blockbuster store in town and got it for free- I like blockbuster much better- Only for the reason that you can take in your movie envelopes and pick out new movies in store free of charge- and they send back your envelopes and your next movie is delivered- so you always have movies- It works well for us- my daughter will have friends over alot- and they use the free movies at blockbuster-

I like Netflix better. I have used there service for a long time, and I have always been pleased with it, and I think their prices are good. I like the fact that I never have to go into a movie rental store again if I don't want to!

I personally have never tried either of these companies. My kids both whom are married use blockbuster.com and they are satisfied with it. Mainly b/c they can return them to the store and get a free rental, so they are never without something to watch. My daughter and her husband especially, before they moved into the country. They had access to all the newest movies with their blockbuster.

I like blockbuster because I have a blockbuter very close to me.
I use blockbuster.com and receive movies in the mail. AFter watching the movie I can run to the video store and rent another movie at no charge. They will mail the one that I received, back for me. I don't have to wait in between movies.
I don't always watch the movies that I receive in the mail immediately, but I keep them until somebody wants to rent a movie, then I take it to the video store to rent a movie there at no extra charge and let them mail it back for me. It works pretty well for us.

I have tried both Netflix and Blockbuster.
My experience with both has me with Blockbuster now.
It may be better with Netflix, but when I was a member it took almost a week for a movie to get to me.
With the Total Access of Blockbuster, I get a new movie in 2 or 3 days, and when I return the movie at the store I get a new rental right away. I tend to rent the new movies at the store, and cue up older movies online. I also use there snack plan, so for a one time 5.99 I get a free snack with every rental (even the free ones for returned online rentals). It's the extras in store that make it worth while.

I don't think I even realized Blockbuster was across the country. I guess I thought it was a Southern company for some reason. Shows you how much I travel.:P My husband is Blockbuster all the way, but we haven't ever tried the programs you are talking about. My sister-in-law does the Blockbuster.com, but I don't really know what she thinks about it either. She only lives about 10 minutes away from our local Blockbuster, so I don't know why she even pays to do the program. My husband wants to try that GameFly thing, which is the same concept but in video game form. I was checking it out on the Internet, but it's the same price as the game program Blockbuster offers. You are right about Blockbuster never having what you want. We do have a lot of stupid account problems with them too. Maybe we should give Netflix a try...
