A cute cat story

With the recent news about a certain televangelist's death it reminds me of a cat story.
This happened back in the early 1980's.
Now, I am of the opinion that the only "crime" that groups like the "700 club" do is being on television & not being enertaining.
I had a roommate at the time who would turn the shows on sometimes (when there was nothing else worth watching with the limited cable selection.) She called it "checking to see what the enemy were up to." Obviously we were not into that brand of Christianity.
Well, one night they had on a guy that traveled around the country doing musical religious programs he came on to promote his program. He had with him a small (3 in fact) part of his musical people, & these 3 were all former Miss Americas. They all played the piano.
Well, their opening piece was "Chariots of Fire." And it was well done too. So, we were enjoying the music & we heard *THUNK* A moment later Zucchini came trotting out of the bedroom & sat down in front of the TV. She sat there, entranced until the piece was over. When they started another peice of music, she stayed for a few more moments then got up & left.
Needless to say, we were about falling over ourselves laughing!
Ever after that, whenever we hear "Chariots of Fire" we call it Zu's favorite piece of music.

How funny I guess she loved Charios of fire of the piano playing or both. Maybe she was spoken to by the lord to stop and listen to the music. What ever possed her to listen to the music it is a cute story and I am sure great membories for you.
We had a mentally challenged cat that I named Forrest Gump. Yes his IQ was quit low. My son was sitting on the floor leaning against the couch, I was sitting on a recliner. We where watching TV, when Forrest came into the room walked around my son and was looking at the couch and started hissing, his tail puffed out huge and his hair on his back was standing up. We started laughing like carzy. Forrest had walked around my son and spotted a stuffed zebra that my son had gotten out of one of those quarter machines with clawes. We could not stop laughing at Forrest. My son picked up the zebra and put it closer to Forrest, that only made Forrest more scared. Forrest ran out of the room. We could not stop laughing at poor Forrest. I finally went to the other room and appolgized to him. I am laughing now as I am thinking of it. Forrest was afraid of a stuffed zebra.
Forrest was the type of cat that would get himself into a cornor and not be able to find his way out.

I've been pretty lucky to have some pretty bright cats. Not all well behaved, but not mentally challanged like your Forrest.
That didn't change the fact that my dad was showing slides of a trip he took & at the end there were some that he bought of Alaskan animals - moose, bear, elk.
Cat (yes her name) suddenly looked up & went into stalk mode. The tip of her tail started puffing & dad was changing the slides. He went thru the animal slides & Cat's fur slowly puffed up from the tail tip until it got to about the middle of her back. That's when she got to the wall, sniffed the "animals" & discovered they really didn't exist. All the fur went down instantly & she stalked away like we weren't laughing our heads off at her.

That is a really cute story. Some of the things that cats do, are just out of this world, and I wish I had my video camera on 100% of the time to capture all of the neat things I have seen my cat do over the years.

I used to have a cat that loved the kids show "Wishbone"--it was a cute show and I loved to watch it myself, but I swear, I turned that show on more for my cat, Bobbity....she just loved chasing the doggie...heehee--another....I love to sing around the house...no problem,..but everytime I sing "into the west" by Annie Lennox my current cat Kissy has to come running over to me and stares at me...once I stop, and sing something else she walks away

I had a cat that watched car races. He never attacked the screen he just sat and watched the race, the whole race. When I met my husband we got 2 cats a girl and a boy, the boy loved to watch horse shows with me and wrestling with my husband. He was also a great fly hunter, we got a strange infestation of flies in the rental house that we shared with other tenants and my husband would pick up the cat and run around the house with him over his head and the cat would grab flies out of the air while they went. I have to say cats are some of the strangest animals I have ever met.

I've got one for you; it's not a cat story, though. Once I was practicing a couple solo pieces at the home of my grandpa's high school sweetheart and her husband. All was quiet. Then, I showed off my Star Spangled Banner, and a dog in a neighboring yard started to howl along with me!
For fun, I went back to one of my German pieces. All was quiet again. But as soon as I started singing the national anthem again, the dog started howling!!! We got a kick out of that one. I only wish we had a camcorder. I would have taken that patriotic dog to America's Funniest Home Videos. :P
