Honestly... I was. I know it was wrong but i did it once. I read my younger brother's diary up to 2 to 3 pages. He didn't know I had read it till today. Too scare to admit it... I know if I tell him the truth, he will not continue to write diary anymore. But somehow I felt guilty when our conversation connected to others people privacy then I will try to change 'channel' and talk topics. I really hate that feeling, damn no good at all.
Have you ever read other's diary?

me, i have read other people's diary... like the diary of my friend... sometimes I read diaries with permission, but sometimes not. But when it's the time that it was my diary which was read by my brother, I was really ashamed and promised to myself I'll never read other diaries again.

Gad zooks no! I think like once I happened upon a diary and I looked to see what was the last date they wrote. Just to see or how much. But NEVER have I read someones diary. Its private. My sister said when she has kids she would read her kids diary if there was a reason. I guess thats maybe a good reason. But truly I think even if its your kid I dont think its a good reason to read their diary. Its a private thing. I'd die of embarrasement if I thought someone had read mine. :((

LOl. I have once too. I read my father's diary but fortunately my father didn't jot down any dark secrets in it. It has only several notes about the most important events in his life, that's all. He never wrote down about his inner feelings and I am glad that I didn't know his deepest secrets. If not I would feel guilty for the rest of my life.

I did when I was young. My friend's journal was sitting on her bedside table and she was downstairs on the phone with her boyfriend, so I read the first few pages. Most of it was just poetry and some sketches, but a few entries were about her boyfriends -- nothing specific just exchanges they'd had. I felt bad afterwards, but honestly it revealed so little about her, that I couldn't feel too bad.

Even I read my daughter's diary. She was studying in 7th Standard on those days. My wife one day gave her diary asking me to go through that.
It was very nice to read. And we realised so many things from that. She is very clearly narrated even the silly or simple matters, which touched her.
I never used to write diaries in my school or college days. Anyway she practiced it. I thionk it is a good practice to write the diary.
I dont want to read othes diary. But it is a must to read my daughter's diary. But I consider, it is wrong to read someothers diary other than our family members.

Well, its not the end of the world! Why bother to tell him? Was it a good read? You are feeling bad about it now, so you won't ever do it again. Do you keep a diary too. Perhaps you should, and then you and your brother could read each others diary. That might be fun. Brothers and sisters are fun! You are lucky to have a brother. I had one brother and 2 sisters. we always had fun together. My youngest sister was especially close. Personally I have never read anyones diary except Ann Frank's.

I never do that before but someone used to read mine and I didn't feel good about it. I hate when someone does that to me. however, now i never write it again... I just ignore it and think about something good. It is a privacy and you should stop doing it. If he knows that you have been reading his diary then he will be so mad. I wish you all the best
