Hi fairygreen, long time no hear from you. so probably the prohibition that your office had directed keeps you away from mylot.
I had just strolling along with my friend's list and just came out with your name. I remember that your one of the first friend that I have here in mylot (also found out that most of my initial friends that I have here are inactive right now).
Anyway regarding your problem, i don't really know the root cause, but I think the best option is just to tell the truth. Whether your boss accept your explanation or not, at least you have said the real truth.
God luck and miss you.

I'm not familiar with the issue that you're raising up. Have you posted it in one of your discussions? I'm quite interested.
Anyway, I guess we are quite in the same dilemma with regards to mylotting. I don't have a personal computer at home so I only get the chance to surf the internet here in the office and I do it every lunch time because it's prohibited to do personal matters during office hours. And now that our company is facing a financial crisis, my use of the internet will be even more limited. If the management decides to displace half of the company's manpower by the end of the month, we are in grave danger.
Regarding your dilemma about the lost purchase order, I do have a suggestion and I hope it would help you. Does this P.O. has other copies (supplier's copy / retailer's copy / Accounting copy)? If so, you could request for a photocopy of this P.O. It might not be the original but at least, you exerted your effort to provide a copy of it, right?! Then, it would be easier for you to tell your boss about this problem and he might even have a better solution to it. Another tip which is not only good for now and for the office is: try to keep your working area clean and clutter-free. With this, you could minimize or avoid unwanted clutter and dirt and a lot of problems and gray areas in your life. Cheer up, don't worry too much, okay.

Uhm, don't really know the details--have you reported your loss of work-related material yet?

Just tell your boss the truth as he will know anyway if you don't. There is always going to be something that you will or won't do..its a mistake and you did not do this on purpose..once I was over paid and told my boss about the extra 100 dollars that he paid me..he did not like it but he just deducted it from my pay..so i feel a lot better about telling the truth as I know that it would have came out in the long run..but its your call..but the truth is always the right thing to do
