If you could have anything you wanted for your birthday or Christmas....

What would it be?It's your birthday or Christmas and someone you know tells you that you can have anything you want, cost is no object do you know what you would want? I don't think I could answer right away because there are so many things that I would like to have that cost a lot of money and I could never afford to get for myself. If money was no object I might just say that I want the money! That way I could get a lot of the smaller things that I want and need. On the other hand cruise would sound like a great idea! If I drove I would say a car for sure. What would you say if this question was asked of you? Would you have an answer right away or would you need time to think? Is there something big that you've wanted and can't afford or would you want a few smaller things? What would your answer be?

I hate asking for gifts. I usually only ever ask for money to help me pay some bills because that's what's most important to me, being able to afford bills. I'd rather buy things I want for myself. I bought and paid for two cars myself. I'm on my third car. Never got anything for those cars...that I didn't earn myself (or get for someone totalling them!). I bought my own computer, i'd like to get a new one as this one is about 8 or 9 years old, but I turn down my parents every time they offer to buy me one. I bought myself a great tv and a home theater system. I'd rather be able to buy things i want for myself and just get money for bills and such. i'm not sure why.

My fault. I must not have read your post completely... Well, you know in India one can purchase young brides... Just kidding. I wasn't looking at the buy factor, as much as I was looking at what I'd really like.

Some interesting thoughts there. I especially like the "beautiful woman..." I don't think that can ever be bought!

My wish would be a logcabin out in the country at the foot of a mountain with rocking chairs on the front porch and a bear rug in front of the fire place, but I know that will never happen so I will just say that I wish for everyone to be healthy and their familes to be together.

But isn't it so nice to dream just for a minute? I love the log cabin at the foot of the mountain with the rocking chairs. I could deal with that.

I know this is far fetched but I would love a two or three bedroom home with all the modern furnishings etc from top to bottom. Since we can't afford that at the moment I would have to say a new lounge suite would be nice.

Since you could have anything you could get the three b/r home with all the modern furnishings. Wouldn't that be awesome?

I cant think of 1 thing off the top of my head but i have a few ideas on what i'd ask for :) A Dodge Viper - my dream car - it'd cost far too much for me to ever afford but if this gift was whatever i wanted then that would definitely be 1 of my options! I'd like a new home, nothing fancy but i have a design in mind that would be lovely if someone was happy to build it for me - if not, then the renovations to my current home - just an additional room or 2 & it needs to be modernised a bit! If i couldn't make up my mind on the above then i guess money would be the best option but since money is no object, the amount would be up to the gift giver i supposed! I'd also like a nice little unit/flat - something i could hold on to that would be a form of income for me & something i could leave my daughter when she's older :) Help to make sure she has a financially secure future! Plus any other kids that we may have in time.

For someone who couldn't think of anything off the top of her head you came up with some pretty good ideas! I love the trip around the world, that's definitely for me.

Easy:-)) I would want someone to pay off the remainder of my mortgage (just another 3 years to go!), so that I didn't have to waste the next 3 years at work, and could spend time at home doing the things I really want to do, like spending more time with my elderly Father before it is too late, and settng up a charity home for ill-treated cats, which has always been a dream for me. They always say money can't buy you happiness, but it can certainly go a long way to getting there in my mind!!!

That's one of the dumbest sayings I've ever heard. Money certainly can buy happiness. Look how happy it would make you and your family! Not to mention everyone else in the world!

I would just want the money, and sadly I would want it for completely practical reasons. I want so much to own a house, and not to have to worry about what happens if I can't get back to work soon (I'm on medical leave right now) and not to have to worry about how I'm going to pay my bills. Sorry, my answer is depressing. I'm having a rough day/week/month/year/lifetime or something.

I would very much like a small summerhouse by the ocean. I would also like some carpenters etc to help redo our farm house. Or I could do with a small plane, environmentally friendly, that could take me anywhere I wanted to go quick and easy.

I want a laptop which I cannot afford at the present time. It would be nice to have a real good laptop that I can take with me when I visit relatives so I can keep in touch with my internet friends.

Laptops are so expensive aren't they? Being able to keep in touch when we are away from our desktops would be great.

I would gladly say house and lot because we don't have yet our own house. We're living with my in-laws and I want to be totally independent from them. I just wish this will happen someday.

Wow, if I had the chance to get anything for christmas, that would be a plane ticket..I would love to see my boyfriend again, who I haven't seen for almost two years. He is in canada, and i'm here in the philippines. Even if we both work hard for the rest of the year we're still a few dollars short, so if there is any kind soul who will sponsor my ticket it would be the best christmas gift I will ever receive. :)

I like this question very much.Actually,I have already imagined many times about this situation. That is:If it's my birthday or Chistmas and someone tells me that I can have anything I want, what I'll say.I don't need time to think each time.My answer is health. For most of the healthy people,it's not the best answer, but for me,even for my family, that is what we think about everyday.because I have a kidney disease.Really hope that this can be true. But it doesn't matter,I'll still be happy everyday even though it's just an imagination.

For so many people the best thing they could ask for would be better health. If only money could buy that for them.

If I could have ANYTHING I wanted for my birthday or Christmas, I would want to turn back time. I would want to go back to October 13th of 1998 with everything I know now. I would do everything in my power to prevent my late brother from being killed. No money in the world would ever replace that want in my life.

I reckon i would need some time to really think about it. But what i would really love is a whole 24hours just for myself, being pampered. A nice spa, massage, facial, no cooking or cleaning, meals served to you, luxury hotel. Maybe a movie that you want to see but noone else does - the soppy romantic type. But we can only dream. Best wishes to you

well, if he insist, i'd want a resort by the sea please, full of amenities, like a pool, spa, tennis court, a restaurant, parlour, etc., etc. it would be something that my family would be able to use, while earning on it at the same time. and if it really gains, i'd repay my friend in the way he wants it to be, for the kindness he's given me.
