I take medication for depression and asthma every day of my life. I also use a nebulizer when my asthma is very bad. Now I'm having a problem where I have to take another medication for pain. There was a time when I didn't even take Tylenol and now I have a daily regimen of pills that I take throughout the day. I've used those little pill containers with the days on them but they ended up being a pain for me so I stopped and just take the meds out of their bottles. The only bad thing about that is I sometimes forget if I took one or not. Now I'm taking out what I need for the day and putting them in a small cup so I can keep track. It sux getting old...lol... Do you take medication on a daily basis? Do you ever forget to take one? Do you use a special container to keep them in?

I take tricore for cholesterol, lexapro for mood swings, hydrothoroclorazide(HCTZ)for water and high blood pressure, trazadon to help me shut off my brain so I can sleep and coracedin for blood pressure than I take one-a-day and vitamin b-12 and green tea tablets, some times I don't take them when I should but I will take them later yes I keep my bedtime meds in a container the others I keep on the table to remind me to take them.I agree with you the older you get the more meds you have to take and when you go to the doctors if they find something wrong than that means something else will go wrong later YES IT DOES SUCK WHEN YOU ARE GETTING OLDER and the first to go is the brain LOL

I used to take medication on a daily basis. That was when I was suffering from depression and anxiety as well. For the most part, I was able to remember to take my medication every day but sometimes was slow calling in the refills. I am no longer on any prescription medications. I still have the special container to keep any prescription meds in, just in case I need to take medication again.

I would say from your post that you are now over your depression and anxiety and that gives me hope that someday I will be too. Good for you!

I have nine prescriptions I take daily, plus a multivitamin. Some have to be taken with food, others without, some in the morning, some at night. So I have one of those boxes, with little squares for each day and each time of the day. It is a pain. On the bright side however, it has given me the incentive to lose weight. If I can stick to a healthy diet and lose enough weight, I might be able to stop taking at least four of the prescriptions.

For a while a couple years ago, I had to put eye drops into my right eye once every 4 hours. Then it was four times a day. Then Three times , every other day. I had to make a chart. Now I only take my allergy pill four times a week.

Yes i take medication every day. I am also very forgetful. The way I do it is I have a small book where I write down what medication I have taken, and the time. I have some that I only take if I feel it is necessary, so a container for them would not help much. Writing it down has really helped alot! Then, if a doctor asks me what and how much I take i can easily find out too. That has proven helpful a couple of times.

I actually have a list that I keep in all of my purses with the names and doses of all my meds for whenever a doctor asks which they always do no matter what I go to one for. The book would never work for me but it's a good idea if it works for you.

I think your a lucky person! I am surprised you don't take vitamins because that seems to be the thing to do these days.

No I don't, but both of my girls do. Both for asthma as they have to have Clariton everday and Albuterol treatments every 4 hours when their allergies peek. My youngest takes Concerta for her ADD as well. I keep their meds in a shoe box with a chart to mark down when they get their meds, that way I don't forget or over dose them.

You're lucky you don't take any since you have to take care of the meds for your two girls. It sure sounds like you have a great system there.

I take medicine for colitis everyday, 2 pills 3 x a day for a total of six pills a day. I forget all the time, and do not currently use a pillbox, but I know I should.

Yes, I take three medications a day, but it will soon be bumped up to four. I have to take Lamicktal and abilify to treat my bipolar, and I take birth control. I try not to forget to take my pills, because I become a wreck without my bipolar medication, and I could get pregnant without my birth control. If I was to get pregnant, it would be bad because my other medication causes dramatic birth defects. I do hate taking my pills everyday though, and just wish I was normal enough not to require my bipolar medication.

Those of us who have to take psych meds don't like to have to rely on them but know what the results will be if we don't. The same goes for birth control!

I have many prescriptions that I take every day, for asthma, allergies, and Meniere's disease. Like you I have to use a nebulizer as well when my asthma is really bad. I keep everything in the original bottles, because it's easier for when I have to go to the doctor's and they ask for everything you're on, to have all the bottles with me to copy down from. It's also easier in terms of explaining what I'm taking to other people, like at work or whatever. Besides, the pill containers don't work for my Advair (which is in a discus that I inhale from), my nasal spray stuff, or my Epi-pen that I have to have on me. I carry all of my medicines in my purse, and they pretty much are the only thing in my purse at this point because they take up so much room. Other than my credit/debit/insurance cards and such, which have their own pocket. I never forget to take anything becuase I will actually take each bottle out of my purse after I have taken the medicine, so I know what I have taken and what I haven't. I also have them sorted in my purse by how many times a day I have to take them, so all the ones I take more than once are in the same pocket so my second and third doses only come from that pocket. I sound like such an old person, thinking about how many medicines I take. I'm only 26. I can imagine that by the time I'm 50 I'll have a briefcase or a suitcase for my medicines, rather than just having them take up all the room in my purse.

I also use the advair discus and it's a pain to carry around because it's so big! If your taking all of that medication now I would think by the time your older you will be better and won't need them any more....think positive!

"If your taking all of that medication now I would think by the time your older you will be better and won't need them any more....think positive!" I have never thought of it that way! That's beautiful! Thanks so much! I actually have an appointment with a neurologist in just a couple of hours, and I think this was just the bit of positivity I needed to get me ready for it. Seriously, thank you!

You are welcome! The way I see it is that I'm taking all of this medication so that one day I won't have to take any at all. Isn't medication supposed to make us better?

I take medication on a daily basis. My routine is to line up the medicine on the table and then take it with my coffee. My evening meds I take with milk and cookies in the evening. A couple of times I couldn't remember if I took them or not so now I always take them at the same hour.

Yes, ctry, as a doctor once told me, "Getting old is he11." I do take medication on a daily basis-5 to be exact, and in the past I have forgotten which pill I took or if I took any at all, LOL. My mother gave me one of those DOTW pill keepers a couple of years ago, so I manage much better now. I don't know why but it seem that my long-term memory is better than my short-term memory these days.

I can't tell you how many of those DOTW pill keepers I have been through! I always manage to break the covers off or otherwise break them so I finally gave up.

See you do hate getting old! Ha ha. I guess that's a benefit I have. I don't have to take medications, well I also don't have insurance so who knows maybe if I went to the doctors I would have to. I do take stuff for my allergies though and I take vitamins. Other than that I don't take much of anything unless i'm sick or have a headache.

Of course I hate getting old...Ha ha ha....the bad part is I started taking most of this medication before I got old! You would think I was used to it but I'm not!

I've been taking Lexapro for depression for about the last 4 or 5 months but thats about the only one other than my daily vitamin pill. I have to have the pill container sitting by my sink so that when I go to brush my teeth I'll remember to take them. I'd forget otherwise.

Lexapro is one that I haven't taken yet but seems to be a very popular one. I hope it works for you.

I take medications daily for depression, migraine prevention, asthma, thyriod problems, acid reflux and pain. I also use a nebulizer when my asthma is very bad, although I am supposed to use it every day. I have to take additional pain medications quite frequently, including one for migraines. I have a special container that I use for travel. Aside from that, I have pill bottles all over my desk, arranged in groups so that I remember what time they need to be taken. I do forget to take them sometimes, but my kids are pretty good about reminding me.
