How did you cat get it's name?

My daughter named one of my cats - Lily-Rose and I liked it, and the other I named Aria, because they are half sisters and their mothers name is Melody and Aria is another word for music..

Princess Meow (Who's now called Princess Pooh or Princess Moo) Mea (also called Mea Mouse, Mama Mea, or Mea Monster depending on her attitude). And the latest addition is Pumpkin (also called Pumperkin or Pumpkin Pants)

we have 3 cats and our 2 oldest I let my kids name them. So my oldest daughter named the oldest male Precious cause he was precious. My other daugjter named the female Alexis. I was going to run down names starting with A and she said Alexis. With our newest additiom he is all black so I decided to name him Onyx.

I have a grey and black tabby. His stripes reminded us of those on the shoulders of those who serve in the military...so we kicked around names like Sargeant, Private, Corporal etc. But in the end, we chose the name 'Ripples' because the stripes also look like the ripples that form on water when you skip a stone in the water!

Misu Soup -- that's such a cute name for a cat. My cat's original name was KJ. He was named after his father, Kosmas, from which I named him Kosmas Junior (KJ). My boyfriend started calling him Fluffy, however, and now I call him Fluffy because I find the name adorable. Yes, my cat is confused.

Ashley (I named), which is my avatar is named after Ashley in Gone with the Wind. Plus she is gray so it fit pretty nicely. Our other kitten, my husband named by looking through his roster of students until he found a name he liked. Her name is Carlye. I won't name my pets cutesy, food names. I talk to my cats and I just can't address a being with a cutesy name seriously.
