I am such a proud grandmother. My little guy is starting to walk. For those of you that don't know, my grandson was born very sick and we weren't even sure if he would live. Then we were told that he was blind and deaf and might not do the things that other kids did. Well, the little guy has beat the odds. He is not blind. Somehow his brain managed to bypass the damage and he is able to see. The doctor said that this sometimes happens with babies. He is deaf but a specialist says he can hear very low pitched sounds. Hearing aids might be able to help him hear. He will be getting those in a few weeks. And just recently he started trying to walk. I am so excited. Here is a link to his walking video and also a link to my two grandon's website. feel free to sign the guestbook while you are there.

Brendalee, set the goals high for that little guy, cream rises to the top and he looks and sounds like a fighter. And who is the cutie with the blonde curls, he looks like an angel off of a Christmas card.
I went to your website, it looks like that little guy is getting a lot of love and care, and that makes more difference then doctor's predictions.
You have a right to be proud. And you have a great family.

You must be so pleased that your grandsons very poor prognosis has not turned out the way they saiod. I am sure hearing aids will assist him.
When my daughter was born, they said she would be brain damaged, with cerebral palsy, but this never occured. So I know how you feel when you see him achieve so many things such as walking.
I had a look at your web page & your grandsons sure are good looking.

Yes, I am very pleased. We too heard those words of brain damage and cerebral palsy. That poor little guy has been through so many tests, I just hope he doesn't develope any problems. Its still too early to tell. But he is doing so good in many areas, so all we can do is hope and wait.

That is wonderful. I hope he can beat all of the odds. I have one grandson and he is lots of fun. He was 2 in march. I enjoy him whenever I can be with him. I know my god child has hearing problems and he has to wear hearing aids all of the time and he has done really well. I hope the best for you.

To look at him you wouldn't even know anything was wrong with him. He too has taught me that you can live with a disability.

Brenda I thought that was so cute, him walking for the first time, that is always exciting to see them walk for the first time. My daughter has 2 Boys fraternal twins, the one started walking last month and the other just started walking, he was so fat. he couldn't walk, now he is walking. Brendlee those doctors don't know everything, and you Grandson proved the doctors wrong, I am so happy for him and you, God Bless and give him a hug for me!

It is very difficult to add a "meaningful" comment to this most touching and beautiful story BrendaLee. All I can say is, "Thank you for sharing your family with us and giving us a chance to have a part in the healing process." I can't imagine what your children have gone through as parents, and how much they have depended upon your strength. It seems that no matter how old we get, our strength must remain solid for our children; and you are obviously being a very strong woman for yours. Blessed Be ~Donna

I am so very happy for you and your grandson. That is a miracle that he is doing so well and is beating the odds like that. I hope he continues to do better and I hope that hearing aids will help to make him hear better. Either way, he seems like a lucky little guy. Good luck to you and your grandson in the future!

I bet your so happy, that video was just wonderful. My son is almost a year and he is learning to walk as well. I know how you feel for him to overcome those odds. I'm sure you wont be able to keep up with him soon, you will have to chase him all around. God bless you and your family.
