What is the effect of growing mobile networks.

AS we know that the radiation coming out of the mobiles are very much harmful to us.And if they are so harmful, then the mobile towers setup must be radiating a lot of radiation, and the setup of mobile towers are at a greater pace.
Does, this effect the peoples around them. If yes, then what can be the preventive measures.
