What would you do if you woke up to a robbery in progress?

My sister and I live beside each other. My sister woke my husband and I at around 3:30 in the morning because she needs to use our phone since her house was robbed. The robbers broke into her house got her cellphone, bag, jewelry and even the telephone while my sister and her husband were sound asleep. My sister woke up and saw a strange man in her bedroom rummaging at her things. She was contemplating on shouting and fighting the robber or wait until the robber was out of her doorway. She shouted when the robber was already in her doorway and ready to leave her house. The robber was able to get away with all my sister and her husband's valuables. If you were in my sister's position, what would you do?

A Thief - In case of a theft, i would raise an alarm to alert the neighbors.
if i am confronted by such a situation, i would first raise an alarm so that the neighbors in the vicinity get to know of the theft immediately and can come to help me out. Because only neighbors are located physically close to us so that they can provide immediate help to us. Then it would be very important not to lose courage and maintain cool, though it is easier said than done. I would look out for a weapon, if i have one, or a rod so that I can face the thieves with courage. I would also call up the police for the help.

Hi! I'm sorry for my delayed reply. I have been out of town lately. I totally agree with you. Getting the attention of the neighbors will scare off the thieves. Being cool and having a clear head are one of the great tools in a dangerous situation. Thanks for your reply, Ranjeet.

OMG that would be awful, I have been robbed twice, both times I was at work, I couldn't imagine wht I would do if I was home, if I didn't have a heart attack I think I would maybe pretend I was still asleep, hmmm I don't know what I would do, that is so scary....
