This mylot site and similar sites need to be used for some important issues as well like having ideas from people. For example this Global Warning problem is our worlds biggest problem at the moment. And looks like it is getting worse and worse every second. As a human being we already spent world's rich resources wildly. And now earth is giving a signal says that " DO SOMETHING BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE ". Question is. What can a person do by himself ? Does it work ? And what ARE YOU doing to stop this dead end ? I am doing a lot of things like. Turning the lights off if it is unnecessary , ( even standby buttons on Tv's if it is off) or using recycled papers , not opening doors if AC is on , and never turn on AC's if weather is not that hot. Turn of the taps while brushing my teeth, Do you know that toilette reservoirs have water capacities between 7 and 16 liters. And every time you use flush you are spending apprx. 14 liters water . I put 1 liter full of water bottles in these reservoir box.( 2 in my house and 2 in my office ) So from now one every time someone use the flush it would be spent 1 liter less water. You may thing i am crazy :) But some crazy people made world become that way , so let some other crazy people save it :)

Before we leave the job to others, we got to do our part as well. I recycle practically anything that can be recycled. However, global warming seems to be more prominent today, and this is really worrying.

Adrienne

I am with you too..let's all do our part to save mother earth, even how small it is, it will contribute..
for our part, we make sure to not use electricity as much as we do before, we recycle plastic bags from grocery stores and even papers..
it's as little as it is but at least we're helping. If everyone in this world will help, I think it's not too late to save our mother earth.

This is another thing i am doing . I love starbucks coffee. And every morning before i come to office i stop by starbucks and buy 3-4 coffee for me and some friends. And every time they give a huge paper bags to put in . I never throw them a way one day i saw that there are hundreds of them so since then i started to take one with me to make them use my paper bag. They are still looking me like i am insane but also look happy about it. Thanks for sharing cefaz

How about cutting the use of insect sprays, air fresheners, furniture sprays, mirror sprays...some people fail to realize that sprays contribute largely to Global Warming. Using your car when it is only most needed will also help, riding a bike or walking will not only help the environment but your health as well. My professor in Science, Technology, and Society introduced recycling to us so whenever we have quizzes, exams, etc..we may use and write our answers on recycled paper. Learning to accept less than perfect fruits and vegetables will also help our environment by minimizing our farmers' use of pesticides, et al. harmful chemicals for crop protection. Simple things like these can greatly help our environment. In our home, we don't use sprays because it is not only harmful to our environment but also to our health. We just try to make our home as clean as possible. Hope guys here will do the same. Thank you for the opportunity to share :)

I do appreciate your feeling that the members and the sites like Mylot should do something about the most important topic like the GLOBAL WARMING.
Its is the most important topic and I too will do my best to save our Earth for our future generations to enjoy. Our elders did the same for us and its our duty now for us to do the same and save the earth for our children to enjoy.

If you've ever watched Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, we're in for a rude awakening. Mother nature will destory us in the next 20-50 years since hurricanes and other natural disasters are exponentially getting worst. The U.S. should mandate that all cars be upgraded to hybrids instead of wasting $~250 MILLION A DAY (that's 1 BILLION every 4 day!) on freeing the stupid middle east. I think the better outcome is to save the Earth instead of spending it on war. (Btw, Abrams tanks use 1 MPG, what a waste). Its time to vote for a democrat who will fix up America!

hi all, zabawaus is my co-worker and i can say that she exactly does what she says. she is a real "global warming soldier"! she affected us all and now our office has become more sensitive than ever. we try to use recycled papers as much as possible which helped us save more money at the same time :) but the thing is once you discover how much you can do by yourself you start to believe that it is not TOO LATE and you try to implant others too. thanks to zabawaus and people like her. let our world live longer!

I have been doing it since I was aware about it. I am 25 yrs. old and I have been helping save the planet at the age of 10. I compost kitchen waste, segregate trash, prefer to use papers or recycled papers instead of styro and plastic. How about signing up environmental activities. Gather some friends and spread info about saving the planet. start with the household then neighbors. Being influence to the young generation can be a big help, how about speak in school. I'll back you up... I'd love to do something about the nature especially preserving it...

for global warming maybe the best option is to use ethanol and other natural energy than use crude based products.
